Siesta Key took it in the face. Still not out of the woods as its blustery with winds pushing 80 miles an hour. Animals okay. Cages held. Lost power though. Should be clear in the worst of it in about 3 hours.

Just lost power, but on the plus side, the dogs are finally just noping out and sleeping so I can stop doing my impression of a Jim Cantore live bit.

Churches up in my area have been collecting donations for those ravaged from the hurricanes. Nonperishable food, clothing, diapers, personal hygiene items, toilet paper, baby formula, bottled water, fresh bedding, pet food... even requested fresh 5 gallon buckets to use to $hit in. They sent a couple of semis down to the Carolina region last week. I suspect they will do the same for this one.

It's wonderful how, in times of need, people pull together to help out even if we are thousand miles away. A small town if Central MA, the churches somehow organized a couple semi trucks and filled them up with donations to deliver to folks who we have never met and probably will never meet. Just trying to help folks make it through the battered times.

Still got power. 1.9 million do not. It is howling at around 55 mph but our worst winds will be after the eye passes around dawn when we are looking at 80-100. Four tornado warning this afternoon. That was uncomfortable. Bed soon.

We had heavy winds and some light rain from around midnight to 0430-ish. Didn't lose power or internet, thankfully.

3.4 million without power.

We are fine here. Have power, water, and internet and back to work with four hours of conference calls today.

My brother is in Fort Myers and has no power or internet but he has a whole house generator running just fine.

The eye of the hurricane went over the house around 5am. I was up at 520am and we had 15 mph winds. By 600am it was back up to 60 mph and howling again.

We've survived, no power but have a generator running. Lot of debris, couple downed fences, and some....odd... debris that showed up in the yard. Going to take quite awhile to clean up and get the little things fixed that got broken.

Anyone heard from Robert yet?

25% of his county is without power. Lots of water issues also. They got a ton of rain last night. Haven’t heard from him.

Thanks. I know he said he had to ditch his wife and take care of his mom, so I am sure he is busy right now.

Neighbor across the street is a power lineman for PG&E...he left in his work truck a couple days ago when Florida asked power companies for help.
