Let's face it guys; all of us, at one time or another have been sucked in by dishonest ads, either online or from a catalog. Our mouth watered when we looked at the airbrushed photo and we salivated even more when we read the ad copy. Then we bought it and discovered it was a dog rocket. When I was a noob I got sucked in by Puros Indios and Indian Tabac. I was also hornswoggled by Cuban Delights, Mr. B, Quorum and a few others, mostly "house" brands, "seconds" and overruns. Then there were the "samplers" that always had some unsellable sticks amongst the good ones. Lets not forget the cigars that some manufacturer had somehow "forgotten" in one of his warehouses for years and is just dying for you to help him take it off his hands at unheard of prices. Last, but not least, are those cigars that you are told were made from Cuban tobacco that was shipped here just before the embargo. So if confession is good for the soul, how were you screwed in the past? 👻

The double perfecto was a favorite. When whoever stopped making LA Perla Habana back when and it switched they bore zero resemblance.
Victor Sinclair....believed the ad on those dung dipped dog or rockets way back when. Yuck! :-&

I've smoked a few bad cigars, but I can't member which ones they were. For the most part I shy away from ad copy when making my selections. I tend to rely on word of mouth from people I trust. Also, I've found it pays to stick with the *major* brands from the manufacturers regarded as the tops in the industry who have been around for a while and consistently produce top product. It would seem they probably get the better tobacco and the *boutiques* get the leftovers.

The worst one I have had was Cuban Rounds, tasted like I would imagine horse $hit tasting. I also was not impressed with RP Sungrown. I have a couple more resting right now, I am hoping it was just my taste that day wasnt ready for it or was off.

How long does one have to walk around this planet to know that any advertising is pro product, supposed good points are stressed and shortcomings are never discussed. Caveat emptor.

Victor Sinclair makes crap, if you get a good one it's probably one in a hundred.

I dont feel like ive been screwed by ad copy but i have been screwed trying to find "good" cheap smokes because i smoked a ton of dog rockets in that pursuit!
