Got a handful of black men hanging in public places around the country. I believe the count is now 4 over 2 weeks or something like that? They're in different states. It appears that the police are ruling them all suicides.

Seems odd to me. Statistically, it's not impossible. Looks like about 800 black males hang themselves (or suffocate themselves) each year. But I don't know how many people commit suicide in public places like in front of a city hall, or in front of an elementary school. That seems... unusual.

In front of city hall? In a park? I guess I'm just curious if we're going to find out 5 years from now that there was some 8chan-type forum encouraging people to lynch black men across the country and we're just seeing a part of it right now.

When having suicidal thoughts, there is no more logic working in your brain. You are stuck in the amygdala part of your brain (fight, flight, freeze). Usually persons with suicidal thoughts and actions are wanting the pain to stop. It makes logical sense to them in the time due to being stuck in the amygdala. We are normally able to use our prefrontal cortex, which handles logic. So, while it may seem illogical or odd to hang oneself in a public place to us, for the person struggling with suicide, it could completely logical.

I am too personally emotionally invested to talk much more about it.

in CA, where black men were found hanging from a tree in very public places, they were quickly ruled suicides by local law enforcement...both cities have histories of racial tensions and community complaints of police brutality by minority citizens...

public outcry over the speed of the determination of cause of death in both cases has resulted in investigations by both the state's AG office and by the FBI...pretty sure they'll unravel the knots...

I remember reading it was deemed a suicide due to "lack of interest" or something bizarre like that.

The dude in CA.... his "half brother"? just got killed by CA deputies. They pulled him over because they believed he matched the description of someone wanted for kidnapping.
