Congrats Gene.

Could clearly see Mars, Venus, and Jupiter last night. The dark sky out here is incredible.

Went out to find tomorrow's hike/parking situation and nearly hit some javelinas wandering about the dirt road. That was interesting. Ran outta sunscreen so I got burnt.

Tomorrow's our last day out here. Got one 5 mile hike planned, then rest of the day in the pool.

That is what struck me when there. Other than being in the Cave of the Mounds in Wisconsin, I’ve never seen darker dark, than Arizona Desert Dark.

My wife was unnerved. I found it reassuring and calming.

Just finished my taxes. I owe a few K to the feds and a few K to the state but I prefer it that way. I would rather play with my own money each year than let them play with it.

As my dad used to say: I only owe money to two people: The Jews and the gentiles.o:)

Seven planets aligning will likely cause the solar system to tip over.

When I was stationed in Greece we would be on a pitch black flight line at night, guarding reconnaisance planes. I was amazed at how many stars I could see... and shooting stars were all night long.

The stars are amazing when you can get away from city lights. Camping in the desert or backpacking into the back country can be an awesome experience.

You can't make that $hit up. The first time I watched it, I couldn't believe what I was saying.

How the Admiral was able to keep his composure is beyond me.

Yes, I watched it too, I thought it had to be out of context or some other logical explanation, but nope, he said it and wan't joking. Now later I read he claimed to was a joke, but I do not think it was.

Dark clear night last night so we could see planets and stars pretty well. And two SpaceX launches from Cape Canaveral.
