Bats are great Bucky. I've got a half dozen bat houses out back. Love watching them at dusk in the summertime.

Many people use 105MM ammo boxes for bat houses... thought about it but never hung one... 😟

May 24, 1844. Samuel Morse sent the message from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. to his assistant, Alfred Vail, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Was watching Modern Marvels and the episode was on communication tech. That's what spawned the random Morse Code post.

My Dad was a HAM radio operator. His call sign is K9JIG. We would joke with him. Dad your call sign is a dog doing a dance. I remember when I was a kid thinking I should get a license too. Part of the test was learning Morse Code.

^ Learning morse code was a block to me getting an amateur radio operator's license. Thank goodness today we have online "code to text" and "text to code" generators. 🍺

He had to stop the amateur radio when he got older and a pacemaker. Doc said, you cant be in your HAM shack (in the basement) transmitting a kilowatt of power, ya gotta step it down. It took the wind out of his sails. Before he died, he had some of his local HAM club members come in and take anything they wanted. The HAM shack was retired.

Mmmmm... pork.

Ever tried pork belly on the smoker? I know I have posted this before, but pork belly burnt ends are just as good as brisket. I've also done them in the oven for a couple hours, covered, and then put them in the air fryer for 15 minutes or so.
