Iffn you haven't cleaned out your dryer vent in a long time it may need it. My wife asked me to check it after she heard a friend had a fire due to a clogged vent. We have lived in this house for almost 20 years and I have never done this but I do keep an eye on the 4" vent to the outside which has a screen to keep bugs/animals from getting in and I know it flowed freely.

Went on-line and bought a vent brush with extensions up to 15 feet which attaches to a drill for about $18. Started from the back of the dryer and went 8 feet. Went outside and did 8 feet from that side. Total ball of lint that came out was about the size of a soccer ball.

I was also ejected towards the very end so will be able to re-live that moment.
