Stevie Wonder - Fulfillingness' First Finale

Another overlooked album during the height of Stevie's most creative period.

Stopped in this backwoods bar in Wisconsin some years back and heard
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain playing over the juke box.
Blew my mind. Another one that I can't believe I had never heard of previously.

Think I'll wait till the weekend rolls in to revisit that one,
and follow it up with Funkadelic - Funkadelic

If I listen to it now,
I know all I'm gonna wanna do is drink n smoke...

Not too long ago, I decided I wanted to better understand the Clinton universe....I knew a bit about Parliament and that there was a lot of overlap with Funkadelic...but after just a bit of reading and googling, I decided that even George Clinton probably confused himself back then...found it cool the way Bootsy and others not only embraced the insanity, but managed to take it to increasingly higher levels

played Boston recently, maybe a goodbye tour?
I think they said George is 77 years old.

Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key of Life

I remember when this came out and thought, “Wow, who’s gonna pay $11 for this?” The answer: a lot of people...including myself (...well, I did get an employee discount that dropped it down to $8-something...). A brilliant album that has stood the test of time. Lotta great songs and addition to Frankie’s favorite, “As”, I love “Knocks Me Off My Feet”.

Delbert McClinton, Never Been Rocked Enough

Just to think I used to worry about things like that
I used to worry 'bout rich and skinny 'til I wound up poor and fat
Now days I kind of worry where my mind's been at
Just to think I used to worry about things like that…

Sly & the Family Stone - Stand!

Their performance of “I Want to Take You Higher” at the ‘69 Woodstock Festival is one of the many highlights...and possibly the best single performance.

Let's Rock - Black Keys

While I miss the heavy blues style of their earlier years, I still enjoy thier music. A lot of Dan's side stuff is not bad either.

Neil Young - Decade

King of the 3-chord, fuzzed out, distorted solos and Godfather of Grunge but on this 1977 compilation you hear more folk-rock and maybe just a tinge of the inspiration for Grunge.

Is it possible for a triple platinum album to be considered underrated?

Such an important album for so many reasons. 43 years old...how is that possible?

I saw them live when that album came out....Blue Oyster Cult opened the show....they played in a fairly small venue, The Providence Civic Center, in Providence Rhode Island....both bands were great, but Passage to Bangkok is forever etched into my brain cells....it could have been the microdots, but I think it would have been fantastic on it's own...Anxious

Inspired by John, been meaning to give this a Spotify spin. Probably haven’t listened to this since the late ‘70s, maybe early ‘80s but did see them twice in concert. They put on a great show each time.
