So it seems Weller 12 hit Chicago about a week+ ago, I've been out of town.
Made the rounds again late Friday......found tons of uniques bourbons and tripped over the last bottle of 12 at a place I rarely visit.
No ETL anywhere and PVW folks just laugh.

Weller has been fun to sample, great value for sure.

Dickle Hand Selected Barrel. This is much more robust than your typical Dickle fare.

With my son - Pappy Flight at the Sage Restaurant inside Aria

Pappy Rye
Pappy 10 yr
Pappy 12 yr
Pappy 15 yr
Pappy 20 yr
Pappy 23 yr

We both liked the 20 yr the best.

Ask for Aaron if you go there.

How much for a flight?

=d>

Edit:

Old Dusty OGD from early 90s or late 80s. Old UPC, heavy caramel!
Lost Prophet - the aroma was the best part

Double Edit! I forgot I managed to get a bottle of the OFBB this year after my whiskey guy told me this was one of the better years. Its pretty damned good. Probably not worth the price but pretty good stuff.

Jethro T. Boots bourbon, neat

This might be some CVS only braand-guessing its from one of the mega-distilleries and labeled. Had a Mary B. Boots honey and a cinnamon whiskey also J.T. Boots label on either side of it. Let's have a drink to capitalism!

Any good? I grabbed a bottle when it was on sale at the local. I've had their finished Rye and its definitely interesting and different but not a huge fan. Definitely not for the $$$.

Yes, good but depending on how much you paid, you may be able to get just as good for less. I'm on my last shot or so but I'm still in my "exploration" stage so will be looking to try something else.

I haven't seen any W12 at the places I've been, but I'm 70 miles West of city proper and don't travel East far very much. So the search continues...

Tonight anyway is 4 Roses SB- neat.

Picked up a Russell's Reserve Rye single barrel and two different four roses barrel proof recipes than I've had previously (working on all 8 slowly). But I drank cheap stuff. Killed my bottle of bulleit (won't replace unless its dirt cheap) and working on a woodford reserve to make room for more ****...

The Russell's isn't bad. If you are a coffee and liquor drinker save the Bulleit for that. Nose opens up really well in the hot coffee and goes well with a breakfast smoke.fog

Oh yeah, Elijah Craig BP last night.

Yum ECBP.

By all stretches of the imagination, I should like Bulleit. High rye, check. >=90 proof, check. good price, check. Has always tasted like **** to me.

Yup, and just like with cigars its a matter of palate and individual taste. I lucked into a bottle of Jefferson's Ocean Aged and while most of the reviews have been glowing and the nose is decent, for my garden variety palate it's just OK, not great, just OK. Drink and smoke what works for you.

What a fluke.

Went to our pizza joint next our neighborhood, their pizza oven is broken.

Drive a couple miles away to Giodornos, place is packed with an hour wait so I ordered s pie to go. 30 minutes.

Wife drives me to a liqueur store that I've never been to with my intentions to get a six pack of beer. Grabbed a six back of beer and perused the bourbons on my way to the cashier. There's a stack of unopened cases of booze on my route, I ask the guy if he's got anything good that just arrived. Says no everything he has is out, I complimented on his selections and asked where he hides the good stuff as I walk towards the counter-he reaches down while saying you know how this games played and pulls up an ETL!

Me? I don't ask the price but asked for another, we had a good laugh over that

Beer night tonight but tomorrow?

Elmer and i will be getting acquainted.

Very nice indeed. I've had two on ice (large ice balls) and they have been very enjoyable.

This one's marked voyage #5. Don't really get salt, although a lot of people do, just not a lot going on. Maybe I'm more of a sewer and less a connoisseur.

Opened a bottle of Whistle Pig last night. Now dat I like. Bulleit, turbinado and coffee this morning with a Tat Black lancero.
