I dunno what it would cost, but it might be worth shipping a little back home... rock cod and ling cod aren't cheap... but probably not worth it if you don't really like fish a lot...

I got a couple of pork shoulders in a brine. Gonna dry rub them in the morning, and then put them on the smoker tomorrow night.

Been so spoiled by 2 day Amazon shipping everything else just sucks.

Ordered parts for a new computer build. Half ordered from Amazon, half from Newegg after price comparing.

5 days later and FedEx tracking still shows my case and motherboard in California. Everything else got here Friday.

I've got your case and motherboard.

I'm doing very dirty things to your motherboard. Lots of RAMming and hard driving.

I'm itching to build it. Been a long time coming. Last build was in 06, and I'm still running it. Upgraded some stuff in 2010 and 2012 but maxed out on what I could do, and it's well beyond its service life now.

There's an informal Gridlife series on iRacing that I've been following but not "driving". Decided to go for it (iRacing is not cheap - it's a subscription sim) but my computer doesn't meet minimum specs for the game that already has pretty low requirements.

Still need to build a cockpit and buy a wheel, but the real life racing time is going to be starting soon and I have a lot of things I need to do to get the car ready in real life. Got till the end of the month to screw around before I need to get to hammering on the racecar. Next off season I'll work on the sim rig. Not sure if I want to do a 3 screen setup or go with Oculus Rift Cost is pretty much the same, as the 3 screen can run a lesser video card than the VR.

Dude just get an 8gb card...1080 or Vega64.

I have the Vega64 and love it. Only a few games that I've had issues with at 4k with Ultra settings. Lot of people question why I didn't get the 1070 and at the time V64 was $200 cheaper.

Prices are still insane on graphics cards. I'll need to buy one for a 3 screen or VR setup, but for now the onboard will be sufficient for iRacing. I could throw $800 bucks at it now, but I also need to put at least that much in the real life racecar before the season starts up. Just prioritizing spending

Nice to be unemployed.

I always hate the disappointment that comes when you try to gently tell them thanks for trying but don't mess with my normal that accompanies them asking how was it...

How did you explain this to the wife and how has she not busted your balls for taking this cigar thing too far?

Who do you think smeared the paint on them?

This was prolly part of their foreplay... you know...

"hey baby, wanna smear my balls with blue and red paint and rub them on some paper?"
"
oh yeah... that's hot! let me get the fingerpaint"

"And then, we can put the paper in a zip-lock baggie"

"oh hank, you say the sexiest things"

"And then... we can pack a box with some cigars..."

"... hang on... what?"

"..I mean, we can go to the bedroom with my blue and red balls..."

(sounds of furiously quick sex being performed so hank can get back to packing a box of cigars)

(cut to image of the kids playing with fingerpaint... picking a strange curly hair out of it)

She didn't know I did it, did it after the kids went to bed and while she was working at Wendys. haha I don't think she would appreciate the humor in it.

They're not mutually exclusive... you can be erudite and luddite.

He's wicked smaht... he just doesn't want a new, fancy phone.

are phones lighter in weight when they're made out of luddite or something? I think mine is just regular plastic and stuff...

I didn’t believe that Frank had a flip phone until I texted him on night and he said he’d have to call me back because it was too hard to text on his phone. I admire his commitment to Luddite-I try.

Never studied it in large organisms...
but the gene I did my undergraduate research on was an example of phenotypic plasticity in e.coli. Gene expression would be cycled on/off based on environmental cues (lactose vs galactose in this case). It would be significantly more complex in multicellular organisms however.

Well can you tell me why I've got 5 plants going from seed, from the same batch of bud, and 3 of those plants are days away from harvest and the other 2 don't have a single orange hair yet?
