Cigar and red bull on the patio... Boys home from school... The kids are playing the yoshi game he got for his birthday on the switch...

2 things about my kids that absolutely amaze me... One is, that at the ages of 4.5 and 6, they're genuinely good at video games... Two is that I give them pretty much unlimited access to one of the best video game systems around, and 7 times out of 10, they'll opt to go outside and play in the dirt instead...

never thought I'd say this, but helping to baby-sit two little grand-daughters, one year old and a two and a half year old, both fighting off some respiratory bug, has worn me out...

Work golf outing round two. Played this time. God, I'm awful at this game. Plenty of cigar smoking time though

we had small lawns, but we still put in artificial turf...lawns just don't feel natural in this desert environment...had to use a lot of water to keep the lawns going...

The wife found a new favorite beer last night at a brewery in Knoxville. Unfortunately they don’t care on it.

Neighbor behind me, and off to the side, did not take care of his palm trees... and the top of one of them fell onto my fence.

It didn't do too much damage, the fence can be fixed pretty easy or so it appears. I cut all the fronds that were in my yard and all the fronds in my next door neighbors yard and threw them in his yard. The trunk is heavy, though, and will need to be cut in order to move it off the fence.

I ain't doing that... and he can fix my damn fence, too.

I drove over to the HOA and showed them pictures. Turns out the people in the home don't own it, and have told the homeowner the trees needed to be tended to. The woman came out while I was throwing fronds into her yard and apologized. Hey, no harm no foul as long as my fence gets fixed.

HOA's have their uses I guess but I just can't see giving that much control over my property to random neighbors. All the horror stories you hear.... Just couldn't do it

I have lived here for 19 years. I haven't once had an issue with my HOA. I've heard from them twice... once they said I left my trash receptacles out too long (wasn't me, so I ignored it) and the second was a notice telling me my house trim needed painting. My whole HOUSE needed painting, so I had it done.

My neighborhood stays clean. The parks are well maintained. And all my neighbors take good care of their property, which keeps mine worth more.

I ain't got much use for them, either, but their is no denying they are useful at times.

Generally rebel against the idea of anyone telling me what to do with my property, but also have a couple houses in our neighborhood I'd like to firebomb as a beautification effort. So I guess I'm conflicted

Not a fan of HOAs. This is the second one I've lived in, and is actually really low key with respect to rules, etc.
Dues are $18/month.....about right for what they do............which ain't much.
Wife fell in love with the house.............so...........yeah...........here I sit.

Condos are sounding better all the time. I understand the benefits. They can change the rules whenever they want, right? Could see me signing the paperwork, all legit, and some libtard walks onto my lawn, telling me I can't smoke a cigar.

I'd lose my chit.

this is the rule by which I live:

A Deal Is Only As Good As The Downside.

forget the upside, the stuff you love and get all tingly about...if you can live with the downside, make the deal.
Cars, houses, anything at all.

True.

The downside of losing half of everything you have ever made in your life is one fothermucker of a downside.

Crazy storms last night. Was nearly constant lightning for an hour straight. Couldn't see across the parking lot from the window cause the rain was so heavy.

The worst of it stayed North of me. Couple buddies shared pictures on Facebook of busted windshields n stuff from the hail that fell by them.

I'd be the neighbor people wanna firebomb. But I fit in where I'm at.

I couldn't handle living in a subdivision, let alone one with an HOA.

Hell, I couldn't handle living in a town. I feel like town codes are too restrictive.

I wanna keep my broken ass car in the driveway. I wanna build a pvc and visqueen paint booth in the yard. I wanna keep livestock in my yard. I wanna shoot stuff from my back deck. I wanna store my camper at home. The town my mail is addressed to prohibits all those things. But I'm unincorporated so I can do whatever the hell I want.

Here's how I feel about HOA's.....

Fuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkk'mmmmmmmm

Here's how I feel about "neighborhood CRIME WATCH ASSOCIATIONS"

Fuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkk'mmmmmmm even more....

especially when the sad lowlife bored as hell housewives jump on the "fat stuffed with black budget cash No.10 business size envelopes" FBI -SSG bandwagon AND VOLUNTEER TO ILLEGALLY GANGSTALK THEIR OWN INNOCENT NEIGHBOR....THE BROWN SHIRTED NAZI HOUSEWIFE BRIGADE TORMENTED ME FOR OVER TWO YEARS while I was taking care of my mom 80's mother in bad health like a pack of rabid hyenas....a bored housewife on crimewatch detail can learn EAST GERMAN STASI POLICE METHODS REAL QUICK LIKE WHEN YOU PAY THEM CASH AND TELL THEM 100% LIES ABOUT "THE MARK" @ THE EDEN RESORT HOTEL ( LANCASTER, PA) FBI MEETING HELD IN THE FALL OF 2012 (we have the video footage of that meeting and all the neighbors involved in it thanks to an attentive T.G.operative )

POINT OF NOTE:
THE KING OF THE FBI-SSG GANGSTALKING COLLUDERS
WHO IS KNOWN HERE AS "the free window douche bag" directly across the street from me ...has decided to sell his H.U.T. AND MOVE INTO A CONDO... I can't wait till the moving trucks come and take the turncoat colluding GANGSTALKING felon criminal away from my general vacinity....my guess is that he got $25 LARGE... IN WINDOWS AND AT LEAST $50-75 LARGE IN VIDEO SURVEILLANCE FEES IN CASH , ALL HAND DELIVERED FROM A BLACK BUDGET ACCOUNT...I'D love to get a warrant for his safe deposit box and financial records for the last 7 years...oh what a story that would tell...

I've lived in HOA's for the last 8 years.

So far, so good. I wouldn't have wanted it 20-30 years ago, but I get value from them now.
$118/mo - parking marking/enforcement, parks, playgrounds, pool, athletic courts, security, common grounds landscaping/maintenance/lighting, snow plowing, trash pickup....along with pretty laid back home maintenance enforcement. They do have to approve major changes to exterior work/colors, but they don't ever get in my knickers about nit picky crap like my nasty lawn....they would if I really let it go, though.

I haven't been on the board, but I do go and bitch when I feel the need -- and they listen and appreciate reasonable feedback....so far, so good

HOAs wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the self appointed "Condo Commandos".

I am president of an HOA just to keep the wackos under wraps. Half of my job is soothing the wild beasts.
