Morning gents

Trying to get caught up on all the yard work and **** has done nothing gone down hill. One lawnmower has 35 hours on it and the phugging belt keeps jumping off the idler pulley has a freaking wobble .So I get on the old mower and the phugging bracket the holds the deck up breaks .So i am taking it to work to weld it up .

Made it home safely and no more fights.

She tends to get more hostile towards me AND wants sex whenever were around friends and family with babies or pregnant women. She's been wanting more kids pretty much since the first one, but I'm not getting tricked twice. We're too old anyway, but she argues her older sister's still pumping them out, as are my sisters. They're all baby collectors. I grew up in a big family and am close to none of them. One is plenty.

Anyhow. I need a diesel if I'm gonna keep towing chit all over the country. 38 gallons of gasoline for that trip. I'd probably be around 24 gallons of diesel for the same. But roofs gotta go first.

Cleaned out a garden bed yesterday where I had ornamental corn growing... Kept finding fully grown praying mantiseses... I don't know what the plural of mantis is...

Relocated a bunch of them but after the 7th or 8th one the novelty wore off...

Mowed the lawn, chopped up a tree that fell, and drank a bunch of beers.

Boy wants to be the one that lights the burn pile so he and I are heading out back with a trailer to gather stuff that needs burned

Haven't seen any in at least a decade here. Last one I saw, I relocated to the beans in the vegetable garden and spent time observing the copious amounts of bean beetles he/she consumed for the next couple of weeks.

You may have to explain basic economics to her.

If you already can't satisfy her vacation desires, how does having a second kid create MORE vacation dollars and time?

Then again, now that the boy's is in school, she'll be able to bolster the vacation coffers with a 40-45 hour a week paying gig.

Empowered to ease the financial burden for the family.

Oh, and don't forget the vasectomy.

Air conditioner in truck works, but only on the passenger side. Drivers side is stuck on full heat. Stupid digital controls n stuff.

So, I am working on pulling the dash out so I can get at the control motors and test/replace.

Brought it to a shop a month ago for the same. They "recalibrated the actuators" and charged me $100. To be fair, it worked for a while. BUT... the recalibration procedure is to disconnect the battery for a min and then reconnect...

If you want chit done, gotta do it yourself.

Back in Misery. Got to see a few old friends, hauled two SUV loads of crap out of my dad's house.... (still didn't make a dent in the crap he's accumulated). ... shipped some of my mother's paintings to Misery (that cost a few hundred dollars.... oof)... and packed her ashes in my carryon. Damn urn weighs a ton...

Nasty thunderstorm nearby. Little rain here but the wind and thunder is intense.

Tried to find replacement blend door actuator but nobody had AC Delco in stock, just house brands. There's few things I'm willing to use house brand parts for and electronics aren't one of them. Too many bad experiences and buying parts twice.

Buddy works in huge dealerships parts dept so I rang him up, they had it, but $300 list. But he always gets me out the door wholesale if I pay cash, so it was $200 and change. For a tiny little stepper motor. If I could wait for shipping I could've saved another $50 ordering online but I had the dash out of my truck and gotta work tomorrow.

Put the new actuator in, recalibrated, and everything's working. No more heat blowing with the AC on.

Dash is almost back together, just waiting out the rain to bolt steering column and stereo/hvac controls back in and snap side panels back on

I'm with you.

But as I think about it...the switches and boards and chit that failed the first time after a couple/few years were OEM.....
