Nah. Stopped at humane society in Munster to visit the animals. They have a cat room where the cats roam free and you can go in and play with them. I found the cranky one, it drew blood. Then we both took naps. She got the bed, I got the couch. Beers were strong and food was heavy.

Then the boy got home and I cleaned up leaves while he rode the gokart around.

Skipping dinner, still full from lunch.

Might drink an old fashioned and watch a movie later tonight.

It must have been a cranky cat and Dan lost the last encounter, so why take a chance.

Reminds me of a guy I worked with in his 70s who said that all the time. Sucks getting old, but beats the alternative. He also liked to talk about how he got tired on day and then retired every day since.

Bbq'd chicken breasts... Baked beans... Fresh baked corn bread...

Cored a few apples, filled with brown sugar and cinnamon... Wrapped em in foil and left em on the leftover charcoal for a bit...

Then I threw a ramekin of chocolate chip cookie bars near the charcoal... Now I'm watching YouTube videos, waiting for the mint chocolate chip ice cream to melt into em a bit...

I need a new fridge.

I could probably get the current fridge repaired, but after 19 years it's probably time for a new one.

Got home from work and it seems to be working again... and that's just as well because the new one I just got won't be delivered until November fkn 12th. Damn near 3 weeks? d'oh!

That happened to my folks... But while they were waiting for the new one, the one that had started working again gave partially out without being noticed.... Top portion of the freezer turned into a not quite cool enough fridge...

Coming up on the end of Charlottes web... Gonna be a tough night tomorrow, but I asked the kids again tonight if they remember how long a spider lives...

And I'm gonna keep up our nightly reading by cracking into The Sign of the Beaver... Don't remember much of it but hoping it's not too grown up...

Any other recommendations on books? We did Charlie and the chocolate factory last year....

Used to love to post pics here. Then it got too complicated. So as in many things, I prefer to withdraw. Life is difficult enough without additional complications.

37 and rain. We've tied for our wettest Fall on record, with 36 more days left in meteorology Autumn.

Farmers can't get onto the fields. Bad news for the upcoming grocery bills.

Good morning. I'm off to wire the 220 for my daughters dryer.

If I don't post later, don't let my wife sell the cigars for what I told her I paid for them!

Of course we won't. First we'll teach her that cigars that have sat in a humidor that long are likely gone stale.. probably only worth a fraction of what you paid for them. Given that they only cost you $0.50 each, we'll gladly take them all off her hands for $0.10 each.

The first White Castle in Az just opened yesterday about a mile from me. Said to be the largest one evah. Some folks have been camped out for days to be in the line. Never had one, but I'm going to wait until there is no line to try one.

Ain't worth a wait. Fries are awful and the "burgers" aren't anything to get excited over.

The breakfast is real tho.

Emptying out the camper and loading up the mouse traps.

Had to stop to go pickup the camper tire that finally came in yesterday.

If it doesn't rain, I'll be wrapping it today too.

Call off the QRF, they can stand down.

Dryer hookup complete with conduit installation done and operational. Grandpa's hero time! BigGrin

I always get nervous drilling concrete. Especially old concrete, but it came of without a hitch. I'm happy.

Yeah, now they don't. There are too many outlet styles floating around anymore. They put on what ever plug configuration you have when they install it. Same thing with ovens. Unless it has to have a separate ground, then it comes prewired and you have to make sure you have the right wiring. d'oh!

I gotta be honest...
I like fries, they're tasty and all.... and I always order them when I get a burger wherever I get one...

But I've never craved fries by themselves... and I've never really noticed or cared about fries between different places. They're all essentially "potato" deep fried. It's edible... it will fill me up... but I'm not gonna go all fat-kid excited over them.

I remember having a similar argument with a friend over soda back in college... It's all roughly the same thing... sugar and carbonation. I couldn't care less if it was coke, pepsi, dr pepper, 7-up.... the only factor that makes me care at this time in my life is that it have caffeine and that it also be diet (because I am a fat kid).
