Went to dog bar today. Exhausted now. That’s the worst part, that and muscle pain, particularly in my back.

Haven’t had a drop since 11/1. Won’t get one until at least 1/16. Something about heart rhythm meds combined with heavy doses of beta blockers and blood thinners in addition to the whacky stuff my heart is doing.

My first drink will be glendronach 15 year revival.

In the mean time the booze money I’m saving is being tucked away for a Daniel Defense DDM4V7

Rheingold used to say they were the "dry" beer.

"my beer is Rheingold, the dry beer.
think of Rheingold whenever you buy beer..."

The hamms reference didn’t change your mind?

As for the dd I about bought one today but decided since I can’t shoot why hurry?

It’s definitely my next purchase though. Thought about the pro but I think I’d prefer the 16 rather than 18.

Last time I drank it - it was the from the land of sky blue waters.

And then there was the not good Falstaff and the horrible grain belt. I don't miss the midwest much.

Nope. My Uncle's brew of choice. And I recently tried the new "old" Schlitz. It was pretty good. I prefer maltier hoppier beers, but I'll not turn down a classic cold one either. Beer

Grain belt makes a nordster or something like that that is ok.

Spent lots of time hiding from in-laws at the heileman brewery. Got used to old style.

Yep. Had that one too. I like Grain belt but damned if it's not a head ache beer in quantity. I haven't had an Old Style in years. Last one I had was a "Premium Import" on a United Air Lines flight somewhere. I asked the flight attendant "Imported? Did Wisconsin secede from the union finally?" She gave me a blank stare, the guy next to me laughed, which is when she figured out I was **** with her. It went downhill from there. LOL

Old Style is an American classic. Just like JD.

My father in law in Maine drank that until he died, may have been the cause of his early demise.

My grandpa died from grain belt.

Funny that’s all I remember of him. He was dying when I was a kid and had given up. He woke up every morning, drank a cup of coffee then opened up a grain belt.

My uncle who was a bombadere in WWII and had an interesting story about running out of gas, and surviving for a week in the pacific before a submarine rescue drank old Milwaukee every day. About a case of it. He lived to be an old man.

Aside from the aforementioned Strohs, Grandpa loved Old Milwaukee and the inappropriately named Milwaukee's Best. Gramps was a man of refinement

It's true.

If you can hold off on booze, hold off.

Serious interactions that can lead to lethal arrythmias. Can do things to allow booze and reduce risk, but best practice is to avoid altogether till things heal.

That looks like a fine allocation for unused beer funds. Last year I went 3 months dry to see if I lost weight (nope) and spent the money on a sim racing setup I wanted for a few years (which now has gone unused for about a year now).

So it was a worse spending decision?

Had a grandfather who drank himself to death. Didn't happen until he was in his 90's, but basically chose to drink his calories all day rather than eat.

Meh. I've seen worse deaths.
