Anxiety all night... no idea why...

Read an article in our local online paper this morning... local fire fighter was arrested along with his wife for beating their 5 year old special needs son who sat next to my daughter in school all year... i went on a field trip with the guy and never suspected anything, but apparently he's a bit of a pos...

I can't even read articles like that or watch/listen to news reports about it. It makes my skin crawl and blood boil. I'm not a violent person but when it comes to the abuse of a child, elderly, handicapped (physically or a mentally) person I don't think I could restrain myself if I were to engage the abuser.

That said, I had the same issue Monday night after my phone died and I had the final inspection of my HVAC system scheduled for the next day. Went off without a hitch. Wife left me her phone and I made some calls and got it done. If I hadn't got it done it was a simple reschedule... so the anxiety was for nothing.

Got no idea what this anxiety was about... felt more chemical than mental, like I'd taken a pill that caused restlessness...

I used the inversion table a lot yesterday and I'm wondering if that had something to do with it...

I don't want to think anyone is beyond repair... In the abstract I'm right there with you, but when the rubber hits the road, I want a path to redemption for everyone... kids do best when they're raised by their parents in a loving and safe home.... obviously that goal can't always be achieved, but something has to break in a person to enable them to do something like this to a child and I'd like to think somehow that something can be fixed...

My heart is broken, first and foremost for the kids... but also for the parents... once upon a time they were kids who didn't know any better and then something or some things went horribly wrong... it's sad all the way around...

Finally got the Home Depot delivery of aluminum stair railing kit to finish the deck remodel. Made in Vietnam. To say this is a kit is an overstatement. Have to find my missing mitersaw or it'll be no fun with my chopsaw for the angles. Brackets leave no room for error. Have to cut all the top and bottom rail angles AND the pickets. Can't find my protractor. Just gonna have to eyeball and measure. Good luck to me. Oh and 102 predicted today with 70% humidity.

Happy Friday fellas.

Enjoy your weekend, hope all goes well.

I have a racecar, but its been broken for 5 years. Little interest in driving anymore.

I used to get on track occasionally in buddy's cars. But all my safety gear is expired now, so I just spend my weekend cooking, smoking cigara, and scooting around on my pit bike.

Maybe someday I'll have a regular road car that I can take on track. Dont want a dedicated track car anymore.

Got the rail done, waiting for a 1/8 titanium drill bit coming from amazon (1.87 delivered) tomorrow to finish it up. tied together with rope right now. My old bit was busted, had every other size.

^Ain't that just the way it is? The size you need is the one that's broke.

Thought you only needed a straw to do a rail...

so true. never did find the miter saw but the chop saw had a miter guide that worked fine. Any roughness will be hidden by the angle brackets. Pretty happy with this project. Hated painting all those rails- so tedious. too hot to sit out back to smoke one and enjoy the fruits of my labor. it's a full western exposure back there, even the gazebo doesn't help this time of day. Gonna sit out on the front porch to smoke under the oak and watch the deer and the neighbors driving by.

well, at least 3 fingers.
some of my more memorable projects have entailed a delayed trip to the emergency room or some home wound care. Only poked my hand between the thumb and forefinger with a rusty nail. lockjaw never came so this one was a win.
my overly focused tunnel vision and the need to finish used to cloud my judgement but I'm alot older and a little wiser these days

Supposed to spec out a factious computer on paper for one of my homework assignments. They give you a budget and a prospective user then "build" them one that meets their needs.

I think I'll choose the digital art design client instead of the boring family or extreme gamer clients. Probably spec out a high end Mac since that seems like what most the graphic art/video editing community uses. Add tons of RAM, a blazing video card, dual or triple monitors with one of them being a flat screen TV where they can stream old episodes of the Simpsons and stuff while they work. Then spec out a full up Adobe software suite and other stuff using torrent links to download complete with cracked activation codes to save some money.

Ya think the prof will look kindly on my out of the box thinking and efforts to save the client some money by installing pirated software? I mean it's not like its a real physical system or anything, just something on paper.
