We had a delightful Memorial Day celebration in Chester, CT. A parade which included a brief ceremony at the Veteran's Memorial, then a short parade to the flagpole at the center of town, complete with fife and drum corps, scouts reciting the pledge, and a remembrance observance in honor of the women and men who gave their lives in service to our country. A service which was repeated in cities and towns across the nation. May God make us all worthy of their sacrifice.

In my high school rastelling days, you could drop a couple pounds to make weight before weigh in by running stairs in a sauna suit, sweating like a pig, spitting and a good healthy $hit. Finger down the throat to puke if you had to.

If you do this for the for a week, you'll hit your target in no time and then you can eat again.

I'm eating plenty. Plenty of vegetables, salad, grilled chicken, fruit, cheese... I'm not eating foods full of bad fat and sugars.

Chips, candy, ice cream (that one is killing me... especially when the damn dog gets a DQ soft serve and I don't), fatty meats, etc. I will eat these again, in moderation, once I get to where I want to be.

Stick to the plan, don't die being impatient. (smaller plates-smaller portions, and longer walks burn more calories),no lollygagging, get tank to help you walk faster. He'll love you for It.

Sat down in my garage recliner, made the happy Tuesday post, cut the cap off an undercrown shade, was reaching for a lighter and the phone rang. Got called in.

This workweek has sucked big floppy donkey dong. At least it's over till next Tuesday in 6 hours. ram27bat

Good Tuesday Morning! It's just 59° this morning! It's supposed to get to an 84° high today and I'll be at the range shortly. I remounted the scope on a Ruger 77/44 and put a new scope on a Bergara B14R yesterday, some .44 Magnum and .22 LR are going to be emptied today.

Fish not temperatures, I am enjoying some actual Spring weather before the summer oven cranks up.

Good morning. It's going to be 91 today with 89% RH and a breeze to keep things relatively cool. Maybe an afternoon rain. Summer is just a few weeks away.

Ouch! Mid 60's here today after a few yucky cold and rainy days. Sposed to get into low 70's with a mix of overcast and some sun.

Two cups of Joe in the gullet, one school assignment submitted and now setting up a laptop for my daughter (early B-day present). Off to the funny farm for work in a couple hours.

Yeah, Asset Protection dude. Part time gig while going to school. Taking advantage of their benefit packages.

I'm one of the guys that hunts down Tdub for drinking key lime water without paying for it (one of the duties of the position). Mostly just stand around and do nothing, sometimes need to review video footage and write up folks that we catch, call the cops if necessary. It's like a real life Seinfeld episode when dealing with the general public.

Gonna be 103 today and headed up from there. June is always the hottest month here but not the most uncomfortable. Got a 5 miler in, gym and yard work completed early. Rest of the day............layabout.

Work called too. Wanting more people to come in tonight. I'm not even going to call them back.

Skipped the gym today, had an errand to run early. Took the pupper to da park, then spent the better part of the morning and early afternoon cleaning the back patio/side of the house. All da leaves are gone, all the dirt in the cracks of the concrete vacuumed and rinsed down, threw away crap I didn't need or use (and now I'll need it, but fuggit) and then put everything back where it was.

Now... to prep some chicken thighs for da grill.

First day back to daycare for the girls. Got the "proof of life" pics from the teachers midway through the day. They seem happy so far. Now for the sickest next 6 months of my life...

Kids bring home the worst germs.

I work with some nasty pathogens every day. Rarely ever get sick. And if I do, its for a day, maybe two. But when the kid started school, whatever he was bringing home got me a few times for 2-3 days each.

I still love the new mower except the no blades on in reverse thing. I figured out how to override the blades off when seat pressure is reduced, because it would cut them out constantly over bumps n stuff.

But I got my yard done, and it looks good, in about 2 hours. That includes weed wracking the ditch, and edging the driveway. The rest of the trimmer areas I spray roundup.

That would be an easy 3.5-4 hours on the old one.

Also just put gas in for the first time since the initial fill. 4 hours on the clock. Old one was a tank every 2 hours.

Bummer. Mine has a key settIng that cuts out the reverse safety deal.

Passed the landfill operator cert test today. Doesn't really do anything for nor really change my current work, but I figure with the plant's expected to mostly shut down in a couple years, certifying my azz off in any direction possible won't hurt

Did a biathlon today.

4 mile bike ride in 25 minutes, followed by a 20 minute 8/10ths of a mile dog walk as a cool down.

Did I just do cardio?

It's the truth. When my for year old started preschool a few years back, I was sicker than I have ever been for about 6 months. I joked that the CDC was going to call me to study me.

Meybee you should let them out of the cages in your basement. Or box them up and ship them to HockeyDad, he's looking for some more strawberry pickers.
