Milestone #1: Wednesday- don't die. Check.

Milestone #2: Biked the same distance DED walks on the average day. 6.1 miles, 30 minutes. Cursory .66 mile dog walk after the ride.

Must be dehydrated. Heart pounding, light headed, but no real sweat. Odd.

Usually in order to sweat one must exert one's self. You described no such exertion.

3.5 mile dog walk up and down hills for 90 minutes (such as I did this morning) would be considered exertion... however, since I am used to it, and it was 55 degrees when we walked... and I was in shorts and a t-shirt... the sweat was negligible.

Tank was panting, slightly, toward the end of it.

How is 4 miles of biking in 25 minutes 'barely cardio' but 6.1 miles in 30 minutes isn't exertion?

Am far from in shape. Have got to believe fewer than half the fatasses here can't do that.

Er, no?

Borrowed parents camper for the weekend. Heading up to the racetrack to play caterer to staff.

No shore power and I sold my little quiet generator with the camper. My big generator will wake the dead. I went to harbor freight to buy a new bigger quiet one, but they're sold out.

Menards has an even bigger quiet inverter generator for $900. I'm thinking about it. Sure would be nice to have AC.

Yessir... last month was a mofo for expenditures for me. Car maintenance (60k miles on a MB C300) new tires for same car, registration for my truck, Vet bill for Tank, wife's birthday/anniversary present. Grand total: $5,625.

Half of that was her handbag. 80% of it was for her car/handbag. Moral of the story... dogs are cheaper than broads.

Same here macs. With 3500 in the bathroom, 5500 in AC, 2500 on the mower, and 1500 on the go kart. Really in no position to continue to hemorrhage money. I'm out. AC went on the HELOC, anything else is gonna be debt.

But on the other hand I do need a new backup generator for the house as one of mine threw a rod and the other is likely headed there too (they're leftovers from y2k scare). I need one for camping without shore power. I got by fine with a little silent 800w unit but no AC. The $400 generator will run camper and AC, but can't run it overnight. The $900 one will do the same with the added benefit of being quiet enough to run overnight. Electric start and on wheels so wife could start it and plug stuff in if power goes out and I'm not home.

I think I'm going to just mark it as another necessary expense and put it on the card. I'm gonna have to really hit the overtime hard. I do have my motorcycle and old mower I need to clean up and sell yet. I expect close to 1k from each of those. That'll be my justification.

I invested for 10+ years, then maxed it out at 50+ the last 2 years. Saved a sh*t ton of money the last 2 years I was working, too... got a "Dave Ramsey" approved cushion in the bank and then some. Well... the "then some" is missing, now.

It's all good.

Backed out on the generator for now. Had it on a flatbed cart, walked around the store to find a new ez-up canopy. Then I decided to put it back.

When the credit cards are paid off again I'll go get one. But I think there's like $1500 on CCs. That needs to go before I spoil myself with air conditioning at the race track.

Early happy Friday fellas.

I think I'm pretty well packed up. Running camper fridge overnight to fill in the morning. Other than the fridge I think I'm ready. Pitbikes in the truck, campers on the hitch. After last year I'm so excited to be getting back to the track.

Probably not, they are too focused on trying figure out how to get a shopping cart out of the cart corral.

I so wish I could post up some vids from the security cameras but some silly corporate rule won't let me make personal copies of any footage.

Some dude last week apparently has an ongoing personal beef with someone else. Whether person A is stalking the other guy or just by coincidence found person B's car in the parking lot, I don't know. But person A egged person B's car then jumped on the hood and did some break dance moves. Person B is taking person A to court for the damages. We turned over some security camera footage of the incident to the cops.

I'd like to go to court for the hearing just to see the outcome.

I like to go to Walmart about a week before Christmas. People that don't leave the house come out to shop. It' s like a very foreign country.

Bucky - do you think it's former Walmart workers that took and released those Walmart You Tube videos ?

60 currently, heading to 92.

Next four days all to be 90+. Will need to shovel the humidity.

In great news, three good friends and I will be floating down a river, drinking cheap beer.

Wonder how the 90 air and 60 water temps are going mesh.

It could be a Raisin Bag Regatta.

Good morning everyone. 8, I hope you have a great time. Incline Village has a great interconnected group of trails, we are hiking them today. LMAO! Sandy's backpack is a junior carrier, mine in an everything else carrier. I'm going to weigh mine before we go. I want to include the work calories in my figure to see how many calories I burn.

Iffn’ 8 wants to get fit he should be pulling the boat upstream instead of floating down.

Finished a nice 6 mile hike in the mountains and stopped at a food truck on the way home for a breakfast burrito. 🌯

Not familiar with any of the YouTube Walmart vids, I've seen enough stupid people to last a lifetime. When you enter the doors of Walmart, you cross a portal into a completely different universe. The store security cam footage is pretty tightly controlled, only certain people are (supposed to) have access to it. Actual copies of the vids can only be given to outside parties with proper documentation and is limited to specifically what, where, and when.

In processing potential shoplifters, we can show the perp the vids of the incident (with a third party present in the room as an independent witness) and only the parts that are specifically relevant to the incident then ask things like "This is what we have, do you still want to stick to your story?"

If I were to quit my job there (I hesitate to use the word work, cause that would be a misnomer. The only "work" is fighting off the urge to dope slap people), technically I would be banned from shopping there for 6 months or 9 months (I forget the exact length of time) because I know where the holes are in the security cam coverage. The cameras are not actively monitored all the time - there are too many - but you are pretty much on camera from the time you pull into the parking lot until you leave and they are rolling 24/7.

As much as I disparage the place, they do have a pretty high tech security system especially around check out registers. For example, if you have a case of water or other stuff on the bottom of the cart, it recognizes it and the AI can kinda figure out if it's a bag of dog food vs a case of diapers vs a case of water... If the item that the system is expecting to be scanned is not scanned, the the system will notify the person manning (or womanning) the check out registers that an item at register XYZ was missed. The worker is then supposed to approach the customer and kindly ask "I noticed that you might be having troubles scanning your purchases, can I assist you?"

It's pretty cool from the technical side. The AI is constantly learning from different camera angles, of different shapes, different colors on how to ID items. Similar to face recognition. If it sees an image of an item that it doesn't recognize and then a UPC code is scanned, it updates it's database with that reference image along with the appropriate UPC code. As the seasons change and new items come and go, we test it sometimes. Walk through the field of view with a boxed up fake Christmas tree, for example. Let the cameras get a view of it and then scan the UPC code. Now the system has a few different images of the packaging and the associated UPC code that goes along with it to add to it's library for reference.

If you want to test the system for yourself, go to Walmart and go to the self check out. Scan scan a box of cereal, but place a Dremel tool on top of it. The scanner sees and rings up the UPC of the box Coco Puffs but not the Dremel tool. The AI should see that you are trying to hide the Dremel tool and notifies the checkout associate that you are miss-scanning items. The register should lock up and a the associate should approach you and ask of you need help scanning your items.

Also, don't try to walk around the store drinking Key Lime seltzer water without paying for it. Then $hit hits the fan.
