I could sure go for some beef chorizo, pork sausage, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, cheese, and eggs all cooked on my griddle and stuffed into burrito tortillas about now.

I just had some seared ahi tuna steaks and salad... mmmmmmm.

Road tripped to San Diego this afternoon to drop off one of my fishing rods. Eyelet broke, so it's getting replaced. My Avet MXL needed service so I dropped that off, too.

Lawn mowed. Hedges trimmed. Weed eating done. Driveway cleaned. It's too hot for this chit.

1/3 of the wood I need to refloor the deck purchased. Might have to save for a year or two for the rest.

Bourbon, beer, and cigars.

Smoking a 2015 anejo shark (I think - dark wrapper, torpedo tip, narrow rg)

Drinking a bourbon that's all numbers like 1795 or something. It's too hot for me so I had to add ice. Also drinking a KBS.

Whole county lost power mid afternoon. Had to scramble for generators cause it was mid race and we needed power for timing. Only lost 5 minutes.

But my camper is powerless. Fridge won't run on propane without 12v. So it's plugged into my truck to save the food. Trucks gonna need a jump tomorrow.

Prices aren't going to go back down. I think we're in the middle of runaway inflation. This is the new cost of everything.

Stick to your trusted suppliers...

The grass seed I put down two weeks ago had about a 5% germination rate. My usual online seed shpo was out of what I wanted so I went elsewhere. Bad move. Got my usual seed place to quick ship me 2# and it just went down today. The new stuff even came with testing data showing an 86% germination rate. We shall see in ten days... Holy water bills Batman.

Some Cherub Rock....

Who wants honey?
As long as there's some money
Who wants that honey?

Let me out
Let, let me out
Let, let me out
Let, let me out

Two cups of coffee in the gullet. Ready to rock and roll.

To do list:
Recharge friend's car's A/C.
Figure out why the speaker bar cuts in and out at another friend's place.

Homework:
- Make a PowerPoint presentation for XYZ buisness work flow project: Gantt chart and and $hit.
- Write up a web services implementation plan thingy for another class.

Prolly a cat nap mixed in there somewhere.

Way to frickin nice outside to hang out inside. Clear skies, sunny, mid 70's. It's going to be a fight to over come procrastination to do my homework and stuff, and stuff... On a day like today, I miss doing gardening and lawn care chores.

Good morning.
90F today.
Need to spread some mulch in front of the house. Got a great deal (50% off) so I bought 20 bags at Home Depot. Wife is going to help me. Then, we'll jump in the pool before getting ready to got to Publix. I hate yardwork in the heat and humidity.

Woo Hoo! Wife wants to do the yardwork without me (because I am unwilling to do it the exact way she wants me to) and I'm going to the grocery instead. Gotta love A/C!

Morning gents. A nice 77/103 and very low RH today and a great early morning for a fast, hard 5 miler followed by taking the '65 Vette out for a little exercise of it's own.

The COVID claimed Jon Rahm yesterday. He was leading the Memorial golf tournament buy 6 shots at the end of the third round and only needed to phone it in today to win about $1.8 million. At the end of his round he was informed he had tested positive and had to withdraw. RIP Jon.

Well FCA reared it's ugly head yet again.

I got 10 minutes away from the track and the coolant gauge was pegged hot.

Stopped and put 10 bottles of water in there. Just pouring right back out.

I've taken it to 3 dealerships saying I smell coolant. All of them said it's fine.

Waiting on aaa to tow me home. They won't take passengers, and can't tow the camper till Tuesday. So my dad's making a 5 hour trip to get the camper, aaa for my truck is 6 hours out when I called them. Got 2 hours to go.

Trucks getting fixed and getting sold. I'm done with this thing. I was optimistic coming up to Michigan, everything went well. But I didn't even get 10 minutes away heading home and it showed its colors. Never buying another Ram. I thought I wanted one for the nice interior, but the rest of the truck is hot steamy garbage.

Couple track buddies run Tundras. They seem to like em.

I prefer to stay in 3/4-1 ton chassis though. Plenty half tons to choose from, but once you've towed with a heavy duty truck it's really hard to go back.

Hemi tows 11,700... hasn't left me stranded yet... though it's only got 11k miles on it.

I've never been a fan of the 6.4L. Obviously neither are you, now. F250?

Newer diesels with the def seem to suck balls.

Wife wanted to eat at a specific restaurant for breakfast. Had nothing to do with the couple of stores we HAD to stop at on our way home. Waiting patiently.

On the bright side, I learn eventually. Finished one cigar that I brought just in case. Now I'm waiting patiently at a nearby taphouse. If she doesn't move it soon, I'll have no choice but to start a second smoke

So at the 6 hour mark still didn't have a phone call from a tow truck. Already had the camper on my dad's truck.

I called aaa back again. On hold another 30 minutes. Then they say they can't find a company willing to take the job. WTF am I paying for then?! I bought premier plus rv for pretty much this exact situation. Would've been great if they told me before I spent all day sitting in a parking lot waiting.

Bought more water and filled the overflow tank to the top. Pouring straight back out but I drove it 3 miles to a dealership. Gotta roadtrip back up to Michigan when it's done.

This was a strategic plan of incompetence with my ex. I was banned from washing any of her clothes after a couple of times.

All my s#it goes in the same load no matter what it is. I don't have any dry clean only or special wash instructions for any of my clothes. If I happen to buy any by mistake and it doesn't make it through a standard cycle, it wasn't meant to be and it becomes a fresh rag for oil changes and stuff.

I've owned (well, rented from the bank) one GM product - a Silverado. Bought new but it didn't make it past 3 yrs with many trips to the shop for a rainbow of issues. Fuxing thing was probably made on Monday after Superbowl Sunday by hung over union workers. After that experience, I've sworn off anything made by GM... have not nor ever will buy one of their vehicles again.

I've pretty much stuck with Japanese cars until recently. Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, Lexus, Infiniti... had 2 RAM's now. EcoDiesel which had issues due to all the crap they put on it for emissions, and the 1500 Hemi which has been fine for the year I've had it.

Wife has a certified C300 which has been good so far. Spendy on the maintenance, though. Prolly go back to Honda or Toyota again when necessary. They last and they're easy to maintain yourself.

Until some electronic start issue strands you at random intervals a few times over a couple weeks, and the dealer's solution is to give it back and say, "bring it back to us when it gets worse." F#$%ing Toyota. Not that I'm bitter.

Same dealer just sent me an email saying they really want to buy our car for their stock. I replied we no longer have the vehicle you're looking for and when you had the chance to buy it, you must not have wanted it too badly since Carmax offered $1500 more than you

Checked carvana and zoom to see what they'd give me for the truck. Brother in law just sold his 2017 wrangler bought new for 40k, for 46k to zoom.

They offered 34k for my truck. That's more than I paid last year, and I paid too much just to be done with the truck hunt. But finding a replacement is a problem. Theres no trucks out there, even less in the HD segment

Maybe they'll fix the truck and it'll be great...

Yeah, SOB... I understand your frustration. We're all a product of our experiences and mine have all been pretty good with Japanese cars.

My buddy Dan had a Chevy Cavalier back in the 90's he did NOT take care of at all... the damn thing just kept running. Odd for a Chevy, let alone one not cared for.

In my Cliff Clavin voice:

Current lean manufacturing principles stem from the The Toyota Production System (TPS) and Edward Deming's SPC stuff. These principles resurrected Japan's manufacturing base when we helped rebuild it after bombing the s#it out of them in WWII. Too bad it took a number of decades for US companies to realize the benefits of this type of thinking.

But thats the whole point of having it, is to have a layer of protection/ assurance when away from your local area.

I have a buddy his rear end gave out on his motorhome. Aaa put him on a flatbed semi truck for 180 miles no outta pocket cost. He sold me on the premier plus plan. It was right around the same time my trans crapped out and I was thinking that would really be a stress relief to know I had a backup plan nationwide.

But today I learned that isn't a thing, aaa doesn't have tow companies under contract to do what aaa promised, and service is incredibly slow, like "we can get the camper in 2 days" slow.

What if I wasn't in a parking lot? What if I was 50 miles from a service station with the family on the side of a highway? I'm so disappointed.

One of my best cars was a $400 Ford Escort. I treated the gas pedal as an on/off switch, I think I changed the oil once in two years. I ran that thing hard. But it kept going.

What did it in was the nose of the crankshaft sheared off. Not a high load area, dunno why or how it happened but the front fell off. That's not sposeda happen.

There ya go! I really liked doing that stuff. The ones who know what and where the problems are and how to fix them are the folks doing the work, not the bozo's in the corner offices. Incremental changes and constant improvements coming directly from the trenches.

Whenever I worked on process improvement projects I'd just put my hands in my pockets and watch and ask questions. Why are you doing like that? I hated to hear "Because that's the way they told me to do it" Bzzzzt, wrong answer. If you could do it your way, how would you do it and why? You show me. You're the expert, I'm just a monkey with a piece of paper that says I'm an engineer. I'd do this in every step along the way and see how each step fed the other.

Ya gotta look at the entire system. What Sally did in step 2 impacts what George does in step 12. If Sally can do a little something different without impacting quality or functionality but it helps George at step 12, then lets make it happen. F-the procedures, I can update that as long as we can justify the change. My job is to make your job easier.

It's amazing on what you learn from asking questions. The biggest one is Why? It's the most basic question... just listen to any 2 year old.. but why? but why? but why? but why? but why? The 5 whys.

I'm sick in the head and think too much. Lean manufacturing stuff is always pinging around in my head for stupid daily stuff. If I put the spice rack right near the stove, I wouldn't have to walk an extra three steps across the kitchen to get the garlic powder.

My name is Bucky and I have a (many) problem(s).

I'm in for $200 if we can take it four wheeling to chase raccoons in the back 40 with a firearm. Hopefully the engine block and firewall will protect us from any ricochet.
