Had to cut the walk to 4 miles. Both knee and hip were problems today. Now that I have the orthotics back in I'n hoping things settle down a bit.
Headed for the mountain house for a few days and a meeting with my oldest daughter and grandson who I have not seen for 2+ years. Angel

I'm going to make a trip to the tackle store. Need to re-spool the big reel with 80 or 100 lb monofilament. Maybe 100-150 yards to go on top of the 100 lb braid. If we hook into one of the big bluefin they've been catching local that should give me a fighting chance.

Prolly see what kind of beer I want to refill my beer fridge with, too... I mean, Total Wine is right there.

Good Wednesday afternoon! It was breakfast and Bullets this morning. Met my shooting buddy at a local breakfast/lunch place. After breakfast, we went to the outdoor range to pop a few caps on the rifle range. It was nice to sit inside a restaurant for a change.

HA!! Did a little Asian guy just tell me I got a small weenie? LOL

Whistle... for mono I like to use P-Line CXX in smoke blue color. The 30# is like 40# and the 40# is like 50#. It's strong line and it's got some give. Tried to put some 80# of that on the Avet HXW Raptor... but the f---stick sposta be working the fishing counter at Turner's wasn't in. Gotta go back.

A 33 gallon gas tank is both a blessing and a curse... $85.75 for a fillup at Costco today... and I still had a 1/4 tank. d'oh!

I hear ya. When I bought my truck in 2013... gas was almost 4$/gal. My tank holds 35 gallons. That first fill up after the free tank it came with was a real eye opener...Brick wall

Depends... am I driving all freeway? Combined? Towing? C'mon, man...

All freeway to NorCal and back right after I bought it I averaged 19-20 mpg. So... 600-ish. Driving to Bahia de Los Angeles in Baja with about 1200 lbs of stuff in the bed and 3 adults inside I got 18 or so mpg. Slower driving, though. I'd say we averaged 55-65 mph.

Towing a boat... 10-12 mpg.

That's REALLY good towing mileage.

I've not towed heavy yet with my Ram 6.4 but 10-12 is my average unladen. Highway empty might push 13-14 if I stay under 70.

I'm expecting 6-7mpg with 6-7k lbs.

Depending on hvac dude, might tow my parents 6500lb camper up to Michigan this weekend and find out. Dude sposeda come tomorrow.

Took family and dogs up to the dunes for some hiking. One of the trails, a boardwalk trail through a marsh has been closed for over 10 years and reopened last year. I wanted to hike it. Level ground, 3 miles, easy peasy. Do have to hike a little to get to it but it wasn't bad.

So since we weren't exhausted yet we did the 3 dune challenge trail. That ones an ass-kicker on its own. Up 200ft dune in loose sand, then back down, back up, back down etc. It's not just 3 dunes, it's more like 6 but 3 are about 200ft.

Poor milly dog was so tired she was laying down in shade any chance she could. Wife was struggling, I did better than I thought I would. She walks 3 miles nearly every day, I sit my lazy ass on the couch or recliner and drink beer. But I was ahead of her and the boy. Heart rate was around 160 on the big climbs, definitely working hard but never had to pause till the tops.

Total was over 5 miles. Half in sand. If you've never walked in Indiana dunes sand, it's extremely loose and slippery. One step only gets you about 6" forward because you slide half your stride back. Some spots you keep walking but you're not moving until you get to moist sand and get traction.

Afterwards we went to Shoreline Brewery for food and beers. They let us take the dogs on the patio, even brought the dogs a big bowl of water.

It was a great day.

Smoking that undercrown shade I clipped right before getting called into work at 1am Tuesday morning.

Probably very similar on the southern end of Lake Michigan like South Haven n stuff. I've only been on one west Michigan Beach near Holland and the sand is a bit more coarse, easier to walk on.

Got a 6'er of Paulaner Original Munich Lager and a 6'er of Ballast Point CA Kolsch from Total Wine today.

Thought about grabbing a bottle of Jefferson's Ocean but it was a little spendy for something I haven't tried yet.

My apologies, good sir... I was taking my brother-in-law to a job up in Antioch. Left early morning, stayed for a quick bite and went home same day. Last June...

Do you get more cardio points for doing the same numbers, but doing it in warmer temps?

Yesterday, 74 degrees. Today, 80. Same distances.

Negative 8. Heart rate alone is the determining factor for the most part. Theres nuances for sure. All weather training is optimal.

Cut a section from a steel oil drum and had us a campfire in the back yard. We hiked, ate at our "camping restaurant" (and got to take the dogs) , and closed out our night getting drunk with a fire in a steel ring. Wife says its not the same.

I guess I agree. Booked 2 nights 3 hours south at Turkey Run state park. Borrowing parents camper. I did it partly because I want to go camping, but also cause I'm gonna try to go up to the racetrack this weekend by myself with my parent's camper.

Hopefully hvac guy gets it done in a day.

Been trying to install a back up camera in my truck for a while now.

First one would trigger the screen to switch to camera view when I put the truck in reverse, so clearly it's getting a signal from the camera. Camera power taps in the reverse light circuit. There's no other trigger to the head unit besides the video RCA cable. But, the screen would flicker showing scrambled video and say no signal.

In the interim I bought a front/rear dashcam. It had rear video when reversing so I was good. But then the tailgate fell off when I was forcing it shut against a bed full of scrap and hit the dashcam breaking it. Can't just get a replacement rear.

Figured the $20 camera that had been sitting in the garage for more than 5 years might be junk, I bought a new one.

Plugged the new one into existing cables. Screen doesn't flicker, but displays a blank screen with "no video signal".

Next I replaced the whole video cable thinking maybe the old one was junk. I did cut and splice the old one, so it's possible. Still no video signal. The lights on the camera light up and the head unit is getting a camera turn on signal but no video.

I'm stumped and frustrated.
