Short sleep night, however, it turned into a great breakfast.
Tomato, mixed greens three egg omelet with freshly grated parmesan cheese, hash browns, sausage, toast with avocado and pepper, coffee, dark chocolate cherry breakfast bar, coffee.

Liverpool v Watford now. Game both watchable and napable.

MAC, have you considered looking at other homes for sale in the area or are you only interested in having a build done ? This maybe fine but can also run into issues . Check out homes and get a reliable house inspection done. Good luck brother.

I was just trying to let folks know there might be agents that rep buyers.

People see a house for sale and call the number listed. Who do they think is paying for the ad?
Not the buyers' agent!

Good Saturday Morning! It's "Sprong Day" +2, two days ago all the trees started sprouting leaves and the naked tree trunks/branches disappeared. Today it's a clear 58° on the way to 72°.

At this point in the tourney, tough to lose one of, if not THE best player on your team and still expect to be competitive.

Would take an extreme effort by the Wildcats in the 2nd half and / or a horrendous breakdown by Kansas for Villanova to win..

Didn't really want to work with an "agent"... as it's my house, and my equity. I don't want to share it with anyone. I'm greedy like that, ya know? I'd like to keep my own money, as weird as that sounds.

Sarcasm

However, if I want to sell, and for top dollar... somebody gotta get paid.

When I bought the current place it was under construction. Builder had 4 models to choose from, and a myriad of options to choose from, no realtor, no middle man. Went into the office after touring the models, selected the one we wanted, picked the lot and made a deposit. When it was done, the builder was paid by my bank and they gave me the keys.

I was really hoping it would be that easy again. Apparently not.

I wasn't really giving you advice, it's just a subject that I found out about a few years back and found interesting.

On the opposite side, I sold my last house without an agent. I advertised it, showed it, negotiated the price, and a good friend of mine who is a R.E. Atty took care of the legal stuff. Wasn't even a hot market at the time.
I don't recommend it though. Stressful.

Waz up folks?

[rant on] Still nursing aching ribs with rx lidocaine patches, ant-inflammatory and a muscle relaxant. A little MMJ too.

Initial estimate on the crash repair, BEFORE tear-down, is over $13k, so it will probably end up being like $18k, which still isn't enough to make it a total loss.ram27bat.

With all the structural and frame damage, it will never be safe enough for me again and I am trading it in to the dealer the day repairs are fully complete. I plan to give the dealer the damage photos and repair estimates and bills- so they can decide whether to just auction it off or sell it to someone stupid enough to buy it knowing everything.

Niece living with us got kicked out of prom last night after being caught smoking a nicotine vape in the restroom.
She spent $100s on her dress and her date both hired a limo and rented a beach house for the weekend through Monday, so maybe she can salvage things.

Franking idiot x 10. We are just about done with her. She's a good kid (we think/hope), whose absent father and useless mother have done NOTHING to help her in life, but helping her could just be too much as there are other major issues too.

Anyhow, my wife son and I are all on the same page and Monday will be her day of reckoning.

That sucks Robert. If it's in any way a consolation, high schoolers are very, very, really, truly, absolutely, stupid, generally speaking. Something about risk/reward area of the brain not fully developed. I think it was the 14-18ish years the wife and I were fully prepared to kill the boy. Mrs Beach may have just been venting. I was thinking through body disposal options. In the end we let him live, and he grew into a responsible young adult, and even apologized to us for the dark times.

I'm not excusing her behavior of courser. I'm just saying there's a decent chance of cranial rectal separation in the future. Both of you and the wife hang in there whichever way this plays out

When it's green it isn't too bad. When it dries up and releases the spores, no bueno. Either way, vet says you should really keep them away from it.

Ugh... just spent an hour and a half on the phone with my tech challenged parents to try to diagnose an emergency on why my mom's computer crashed.
- Is it plugged in?
- Does it give troubleshooting lights or beep codes?
- Is the monitor plugged in?

She's the treasurer of her church and has all the finances on her computer (but supposedly their accountant has copies too). During the discussion, we touched base on random discussions on this that and the other thing over the past week (my mom is never short of words).

I should have sent 8-track over to be my eyes and ears onsite. whip

After many attempts on troubleshooting over the phone, it looks like the power supply $hit the bed. Dad seemed to confirm this diagnosis. He's from the vacuum tube era but computers don't use vacuum tubes or (rarely) parts that can be replaced on the motherboard with a simple solder iron and a resistors, capacitors, transistors from Radio Shack. My dad can fix anything circa 1990. Now days in the digital world, not so much.

He had a super cool HAM shack in basement when I was a kid. Spent many hours down there screwing around with stuff that I shouldn't have been playing with... luckily survived with with only a handful of shocks soldering iron burns.

https://tinyurl.com/4y52tkjc

Anyway, replacement computer ordered (check). Gonna do a laptop rather than a desktop so she can take it with her back and forth to church and the church reading room and stuff. Once delivered I'll purge it from all the crap that they preinstall and then send it back home.

Parents can be a pain. I was a pain as I kid and I owe them more than I can ever pay back.

In the spirit of Mark Twain quotes (edited and paraphrased):

When I was 18, my parents were so ignorant I could hardly stand to have them around. But when I got to be 24, I was astonished at how much they learned in six years.

I feel your pain. I set up a couple of computers for my Mother. The funniest call was after I installed Windows XP:

I had asked her not to just turn off the power strip and just bumping the power button did work instantly, hence the call.

Mom: "How do I turn off the computer?"

Me: "Click on the Start Menu."

Mom: "No, I want to turn the computer off, not on."

Me: "Sigh... Mom I didn't write Windows, the shutdown feature is on the Start Menu."

Mom: "Well that makes no sense at all."

Me: "Now that you mention it, it doesn't, but that is where you need to go."

Mom: "It's easier to just hit the power switch on the power strip."

Me: "Oh, please don't, XP does not like that"

Yeppers....

I'm trying to do it remotely over the phone and I can't see the other end. If it's a software thingy and I can do TeamViewer, it's a bit easier as long as they can get on the internet. Hardware issue... it's painful. Then there's Dad in the background adding his part of it.

Me: Let's start again... do you have it plugged in? Is the power strip on?.... is the monitor connected?
Her: I think so, but there are so many cables behind the desk.
Me: Follow the cable to the power strip from the computer.
Her: There are 2.
Me: 2?
Her: Yeah, computer and the TV.
Me: You don't have a TV in your home office.
Her: The TV that is connects to the computer.
Me: ... no Mom... it's the monitor but we'll call it a TV for now. Is the TV connected to the computer.
Her: Yes in the HOM1 connection.
Me: sigh you mean HDMI.
Her: OK, I don't have my glasses on, I also have some stuff connected to the U5D.
Me: Uhg... USB that's totally different than... fug... Let's go back to the start...

This is what I feel like... fast forward to about the 1:00 mark of this Fawlty Towers skit

Appreciate to offer. My sister lives just across town and stops in a few times a week to check in on them. My brother and sister-in-law are an hour away and stop in once a month or so. Neighbor kids take care of the lawn and snow removal and stuff. I'm the one who hasn't made it back to the nest yet and I wish I was closer.

No catheters or diapers involved yet. Just a couple stubborn old folks that are still able to get around on their own and still have all their faculties, so far. If you see a car with the license plate of K9JIG (his call sign for HAM radio) and there's a little old man behind the wheel... that's him.

He drives like, well and old person. Safe driver since he probably doesn't go more than 30 MPH and only has his blinker on for about 3 blocks after he made a turn.

I could beat him in a race on my e-bike from their house to the Nicolet Restaurant that he goes to EVERY franking morning for his breakfast club at 6:30 AM. It's funny, same people are there every day and sit at the same seats and eat the same thing every day. It's exactly like the sitcom Cheers but with old people doing breakfast.

Mrs. Beach had a group of them two jobs ago. Tom, Dlck, and Charlie. So close to being a perfectly cliche set of names. I was there often enough, for the hot waitress of course, that I think I was adopted as like the group mascot or something. Dlck has since passed away. Charlie's kicking around but haven't seen him myself. Tom I ran into a couple times at the next breakfast place the wife worked

Started getting sick last Wed. Worse through the weekend and actually called off from work last night. A few hours ago my ear started hurting, pressure building and now I have no hearing in my left ear. Called off for tonight too. That brings me to 6 call offs in 12 years.
