Found water in the basement which sucks. Investigation found the clean out cover for one of the two main drains rusted and fell out. So flushing goes right into the basement. Sunday just got chitty

The bright side is it's the line that only goes to the half bath off the kitchen, so not used as often and rarely #2. SOBclean's going to take this one

Not sure what you mean by local driving.........mostly 35 mph and under?

I have a brand new work pickup,Ford F-150 with less than 2000 miles, that states 17 in town 23 on the highway.First off I am no fan of Ford and had no input into the purchase of this vehicle.I'm only getting 12 mpg so we did take it back to Ford to have diagnostics run ,no problems found. Was told in town means a mix of speeds between 25 and 55 and that since my vehicle rarely exceeds 35 mph in town 12-13 mpg is what we should expect.I say bullpuckey but my former work truck,a Chevy 1/2 ton whatever single cab, only got 8 mpg so I guess the bean counters see this as a win win.

I told the bastids to buy Toyota!!!

Good luck Ram

Debris removed. Northern end of the basement disinfected. House smells like a Clorox factory. Internal disinfection commencing shortly. Think I'll start with beer and see how far up the line I get

You two both obviously have a hard on for me (I'm not saying that about anyone else left on this board, just you two).

Good Monday Morning! It's a clear and calm 51° on the way to 73° today. Meeting a buddy for breakfast and bullets today. Our oldest son's Father-in-Law passed yesterday. It was a blessing as he was suffering from Alzheimer's, may he Rest in Peace. An engineer and a good fellow.

Blue skies and wispy clouds. Dusting of snow overnight. Crisp 18° outside with a bit of wind.

Inside forecast calls for some homework and an intermittent nap.

Maybe patch the hole that I cut out in the drywall and relocate a small set of track lighting but that mini project is optional for today - not sure exactly where I want it or if I want to move it. Currently it's mounted high up on the wall, with the lights pointing up to reflect off the ceiling for indirect lighting. It's a blank section of one wall in the bedroom (8' high x 12' ish wide section) and I want to add something with it. Might put the track lighting on the ceiling and have the lights bathe the wall for indirect lighting and highlight some pictures or some art work or suptin.

Maybe a mural that takes up the full wall... sumptin' like this
https://tinyurl.com/wfdbw4pn
Lot's of different designs to pick from, and I'm not settled on one yet. Either a nature landscape or astronomy theme thing. I kinda like the Stonehenge one too
https://tinyurl.com/2p89vtu8

What would be REALLY cool is if the wall was a full LDC screen and you could change the design like one would change background on your computer desktop.

Back to reality... Steaks and baked tatters for supper menu.

Best get my ass in gear and get this puppy dog walked.

One of the positives of having a dog... forces you to get out and get exercise even if its a small short walk to get the blood pumping.

I found it kind of funny watching my dog on a walk as he "read his daily newspaper" checking out the scents of who or what was there from the last time he walked by and then left behind a squirt to re-mark his territory. "That's mine."

I didn't need to leash him but kept a leash with me in case of trouble. He'd always run point but not much further than about 20 ft a head or behind. He'd look back over his shoulder periodically to make sure I or the kids were within sight and following.

I miss my dog.

Good Monday gents. Up around 4:15, 3 cups and out for a 5 miler by 6:00.

GPS Bushnell watch says 5.1 miles, 10870 steps, 76 minutes.
GPS IPhone says 5.3 miles, 11190 steps, 76 minutes.

Guess I could take the average or get a third GPS device that I don't trust. Think

Appraiser from my insurer (Travelers) is coming out today or tomorrow to do his initial estimate. Insurer for owner has not returned my call for six days now.

I checked the car out today and it did an awesome job of crumpling were it should have to lessen the jolt inside the vehicle. I have seen Mercedes and Volvo do this and am glad I was in such a safe car. If I had been sitting up, I could have bee really franked-up because my neck is fused solid from C3-6. So, I take great solace in that, even though my ribs are all busted up and it royally sucks.

Got these huge lidocaine patches, which help some. But on the bright side, the constant pain will be gone in "just only" 6-8 weeks. Had only three days of hydrocodone and switched to a stronger anti-inflammatory (Lodine/etodolac). Gonna probably need a ct scan of my ribs to rule out fracture wit certainty sine they often dont show on ER x-rays.

Can't even bend over to pick anything up without real bad pain. Even breathing sucks. But, hey, my job is to make the best of it that I can and I am/will!Herfing

Holy crap... Bowling alley wants $150 to reserve a lane for two hours this weekend. I haven't bowled in years (decades?) but I just want to take my kids bowling.

Is the new normal for bowling?

Get well soon, OTOH, I've had some experience with an attorney partermned with a chiropractic clinic and while i'm not a gambling man, I would bet heavely they could find somethings to sue about. Their parent company is in Slidell, LA last I heard.

Can you recover the future loss of value for accident damage information contained in a Carfax report?

That's kind of crazy.

We have two bowling alleys in my town. Regular 10 pin using the big balls and candle pin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candlepin_bowling) using small balls. Both are pretty much first come, first serve unless it's league night.

10 pin is about $4/game/person or $25/hr/lane. The candle pin is about $3/person/game.

The candle pin place is pretty loosey goosey since you have to score yourself with paper cards and turn them in at the end to be charged. It's an old (vintage, if you want to phrase it nicely) complete with ash trays and warped lanes. The guy just guesstimates on what you need to pay.

Beautiful morning for a walk and some yard maintenance with 60 degrees and high clouds. About 3:00 things deteriorated fast. Winds gusts about 25-30 and small amount of rain caught me on the patio having a cigar. Supposed to be about 70% chance of rain starting this evening through tomorrow so I cancelled golf for Tuesday. Hope we get some but 70% chance in AZ usually means less than 1/2" if we are lucky.

I don't have any devices that track my steps or pace. I leave the house, look at the time... and then look again when I get back. I figure I walk at least a 3 mile an hour pace. 20 minute mile. Usually done in an hour and 20 minutes. 4 miles.

Sometimes we go a longer route. Sometimes we stop and BS with other puppy dogs.

4 miles is likely our average for the morning walk.

Need 50 degrees to get on the bike and back into shape.
Kuba doesn't like the cold. When warmer, she'll "walk" for 45 minutes. That includes her stopping probably 50 times. Rarely do I get a sweat up or a real change in heartbeat.

haven't bowled in years but when I did it was candlepin 98.2% of the time. Love your description of the candlepin joint.
Even rarer is duck pin...smaller balls with fat pins that fly. Pretty much limited to Rhode Island, parts of Maine, and an odd outpost here and there like maybe Maryland? Not sure, not even sure it even exists anymore.

I regret that I never did get a King Louie bowling shirt

Yessir. Understand completely.

I like to "allow" my brother to stop and smell the roses. Dogs get exercise walking, running and smelling. (I'm sure you know all this)

Tank is an alpha sh*thead. He loves to walk, stop, smell, mark, pee, poop, stop, smell, mark, pee, poop... after the second good poop...? Daddy says... f--k you Tank. The walk just went from Tank friendly to Dad friendly. He's had his time to smell, to pee, to mark and to poop. He usually gets 15-20 minutes of indulgence.

Then it's walking time. You stop? You get your collar yanked. You had 20 minutes to pee, poop and mark. Anything else is BS and we both know it. Keep up or get choked.

Sounds mean. It's not. Read the books.

After not bowling for 30+ years, I participated in our 40th h.s. reunion bowling event. Think I broke 100 in one of my games but most importantly, I won my side bet with HOnizuka. At the 45th reunion, we bet again and this time Homer was victorious. Pulled both of my hammies during the first game, toughed it out but it was the only game I played. Ate pizza and drank beer the rest of the night.

Any quality in my bowling game went to chit when they started showing ball speed on the screen. My new goal unconsciously became top speed with proper aim a distant second. My high point was prolly when I hit the gutter hard enough to hop lanes and get a strike on the next one. 29mph! Woo hoo!
