Because OSU can’t play football and stay in a hotel at the same time?

Took the fam out to my favorite Mediterranean place for dinner tonight. I have a serious belly ache right now. I ate my giant schwarma pita, finished the half of the giant order of schnitzel the kids didn't eat, had waaay too many fries dunked in toum and now I need some Alka Seltzer. We walked around a big "light art" fair the town host every year and the kids got to watch a musical fire show in the canal. The crowds were too big for my taste and the whole thing was really lite on the light art compared to years past, so I don't know if we will go again next year.

Morning folks. Hike coming up in the preserve early then to the gym. The rest of the day is football and start detailing the '65 for the upcoming Goodguys National starting Friday-Sunday.

A buddy is bringing his '60 Falcon Ranchero that he wants to sell. Iffn I had more garage room I would be interested myself. His looks like this one except color:

When I was young, the next door neighbor had one of those but I think it was a 70's something El Camino. Tan or light brownish in color. Two seater. He didn't use it as a muscle car, just an everyday car that can be used as a car and kinda a truck if you need to get something that doesn't fit in a car.

They were great neighbors. Sad part was they were Viking fans, so if you went to their house on Sunday you would have to watch Bud Grant's Vikings beat up the Packers in the dark ages.

I like Rancheros and El Caminos. That is a great looking Falcon, with that engine I hope they installed some modern brakes. Anxious

GB - Pitt game on this morning. Thank goodness most of you Mainland guys do your “Fall Back” clock thing. Game starts at 8:00 am HST so enough time to have a cup of coffee and read a little bit of the paper. Go Pack Go!

Today also, potentially, marks the last time my MIL (…97 years old…) spends a weekend with us. Tomorrow she’ll be going into an adult foster care home. Her dementia, insomnia and need for constant care has reached a point where it’s too much for my SIL and wife to handle. The daytime isn’t too bad but at night when she’s gotten up 5 to 7 times a night has worn us out. Got some medication for it about a month ago but she’ll still get up at least once or twice. Probably should have gotten the ball rolling regards the care home a few months ago but SIL wasn’t ready to let her go.

A couple years ago we were all set to convert that Ranchero into a corner carver and go autocross racing with it. He already had installed a 383 stroker making over 425 horsies and I agreed to pay for all the suspension, brakes, wheels and steering upgrades for 1/2 the seat time. Just never happened. He ended up buying a Porsche Cayman instead.

That is quite a change. While I like older vehicles, I do prefer driving newwer vehicles. I haven't driven any modern Porsche vehicles, but I recall the suspension iprovements between my 1980 and 1993 Corvettes. Part of the improvement was bigger and much better tires along with the carbon fiber springs. The1993 cornered like it had glue on the tires but still had a very plesnet ride quality.

Been in a Talking Heads grove lately. Snipets of their 1984 concert.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuzEQACFk0I
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzzyQpfHaKs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0DpBnUznd0

I found a torrent site to download the full DVD version.

After this concert tour they kinda broke up. David Byrne drifted off to try his own thing. There is a good documentary out there that walks you through the start and the end of the Talking Heads. Netflix or Hulu or some streaming channel (I forget). It's worth a watch.

Thanks Ram. Winding down for the night.

I need to make another batch of chilli. I also need to cook up some pulled pork Carolina style (vinegar based). My taste buds love that stuff.

MACS,

Ybor City Cigar Festival is just about three weeks away.

You could stay at my house the night before (and we could smoke our brains out), then leave in my car to Ybor early the next morning..

In the alternative, you couldc ome to my house early in the morning and we will use my car to and from Ybor.

Either way, I'll have you back to my house no late then like 4pm so you can get home in time, if necessary.

LMK our thoughts: Yes, No,or that you ares still thinking Maybe?

Had to wake up halfway through my sleepday to go to the dentist. Tooth cracked so I just took the first cancellation otherwise I'd have to wait till February. He put a temporary crown on and gotta go back in 2 weeks.

Now gotta try to get more sleep before the lidocaine wears off

Dusting of snow tonight. It will prolly melt when the Sun rises tomorrow. Mental note: buy a snow shovel, I'll need it for the stairs and small areas that the snow blower can't reach. Snow removal will be the kid's chore but they will need the appropriate tools. Should prolly by a bag or two of ice melt to toss on the sidewalk and stairs for the upcoming winter.

I also need to buy a new winter coat, i have a couple but I can't find the one that I would normally use for snow clearing. Must have misplaced it during the move. Maybe I buy a snow suit or sumptin'.

First world problem that doesn't need to be addressed in the hear future but will have to get it done before the snow falls for real..
