Odd you should mention that! Thunder rumbled just as I read your post! I wasn't expecting any rain, I thought I looked at the weather app on the phone and we didn't have any chance of rain. Oh well, here in West TN, it's never a sure thing. When those clouds come across the MS River, they can change immediately.
G'day folks.
I always remember Memorial Day and what it means. As a 7-8 year old, I attended a funeral for a well liked young man from our small home town. He was a year older than my oldest Sister, so about 12 years older than me. He was killed in action in Viet Nam in 1970. That was something I will NEVER forget. At the cemetery, they had two guys about 200 ft apart, and one was just out of sight, they played an "Echoing" version of Taps! That was something that will stick with you forever!
After that, the POW bracelets started becoming more well known. I wore one for around a year, maybe longer until that man was finally released. Maj. Robert D. Peel of Paris, TN.
