Vic is now a midwesterner, we drive.

I know very few people who will fly over driving 12 hours. At least in my area, its 2 hours to the airport pay to park and get in with 30-60 minutes lead time. My last flight was to Orlando. 2 or 3 hours in the plane, another hour to get off and get my luggage. Then another half to hour at car rental counter. Already in it for 6-8 hours and have to pack much lighter and it costs a lot more. I can do the drive in about 14 hours, bring as much stuff as I want including beers and guns, and not deal with airlines.

16 hours for me to drive to Denver, and KCMO is about 8 from here so im guessing about an 8 hour drive.

12 each way from Columbia, Misery.

I'd normally fly over 12 hours... But we're bringing the dog, the bikes, and we were going to Breck, which would require another car when we get to Denver to then get up the mountain. Hell, there's a direct flight from Columbia to Denver...

But Dan has a point. If you're here in the middle of nowhere, and you're going to another middle of nowhere location (which is just about everywhere in a 10 hour radius of here) then you drive... Because you've likely not got a direct flight, and may not have an airport at your destination.

I'm waiting on the wife to serve pinto beans and cheese for nachos and burritos. Goya chick pea salad. Berries and watermelon for dessert.

Dear Outback Steakhouse,

I'm not completely sure where the line is drawn either, but Blue Moon and Angry Orchard cider are NOT "craft" brews.

Thank you

Probably charge a couple dollars more when they’re under the “Craft Beer” section.

My wife has been running a temp of around 101°F for 12 straight days. On one hand we are hoping our Covid tests come back negative, but then that leaves the question of what has been causing a fever for so long? 1000mg of acetaminophen every 6hrs helps control the fever. She also has a couple bourbons now and again. I'm not showing any symptoms, but am not allowed to return to my one workplace until my results come back.

How long did it take for you to get results back? We've been waiting 9 days now, and have been told it could take another week. Are you experiencing any symptoms?

cacman,1000mg of acetaminophen every 6hrs is hell of a lot of acetaminophen. Might equal or exceed daily limits...

I don't trust the test I tested positive and the rest of the family did but my wife did not. We where all eating chips and dip and my daughter had it . So we both had to quarantine and now might have to do it again this sucks.

My best understanding is that the covid tests (ie do you currently have it) tend towards the "false negative" (as opposed to false positive). So if there's an error in the testing between your wife and you, it would be your wife's negative result that's possibly wrong.

3000mg is the maximum daily dose. That's 3 doses a day leaving a minimum of 6hrs for sleep. We usually sleep for 8hrs or more.

Picked up my flatbed trailer to go get dirt and find a wobbly hub on one corner.

So... new bearings and hub are done and now off to get dirt.

I've eaten about a half dozen standalone hubs and two full axles on this trailer in the 15 years I've owned it. My dad's always got it loaned out to someone, it's pretty much constantly in use. Every time I get it back though, something's broken that I have to fix.

Got the dirt. Always looks like a huge amount in the truck/on the trailer. And it feels like a huge amount tossing shovel after shovel to move it. But once on the ground, a yard of dirt doesn't cover much.

Didn't even get one leg leveled.

I did spread a thin layer over all the hard clay and scratched up the surface with a thatching rake, gonna put down some seed in the black dirt should grow. Nothing is sprouting in the clay.

I'm very sweaty.

Danm, I have hard clay here in AZ and one thing I found to help loosen up the clay/soil for grass rooting growth is pulverized gypsum. You can get a 40# bag at HD for under $10 and then just spread it out over the area and repeat every few months. It's like stool softener for soil.
