Monty #2. It's a good batch so far, but this one does not want to stay lit. I guess it's to be expected.

Deadeye is from the future!
Question is was it aged? Assuming you bought it in 2106 then aged it a couple/few years before bringing it back to 2021?
So many questions

Still waiting on my shipment of these from Ravi. Went through the Czech Republic postal processing Jan 27th. Finally went through USPS in NY yesterday. Hope to have them soon. Ordered them a month ago.

When you get them you won't need to freeze them since they are sitting in a frozen warehouse right now.

I've never been one to freeze, anyway. Not humid enough in our area to worry about beetles.

Also got some Cuaba Exclusivos on the way from another vendor. That was 2 weeks ago.

So.... Where to get cubins?
I tried Montefortuna because I had a free shipping code.
When I put in the code, it was recognized and shipping showed 0 on the preview.
On the final bill, shipping was added again.

I thought, if they can't get that right, I'll prolly never get my gars...

My comment was because every place I know of offers free delivery on all shipments all the time. Never tried Montefortuna but their prices look high on most stuff.

Cheapprick, you should keep your eyes posted on the forum for a cc box split. Being a noob to Cubans I found this to be the best way to try some.

Once upon a time... it was like pulling teeth to get anyone to give up a vendor. And they didn't just give them up to anyone. Now too many people just flap their c0ckholsters and the vendors I like to use run out of the stuff I like.

Now get off my lawn!fog

When I was a noob, Wheelrite read me the riot act for even asking. Didn't get it then but kind of do now. Most forums tend to just post names now but from my understanding the embargo is back on so naming sources in public forums sounds risky for the vendors again.

What do you smoke, I'll make sure to jump on them when there in stock againSarcasm

What's the word on the Monte 1s on sale? Not a Monte fan but nh and love the lonsdale size in most cigars.

Yep. Back in the day even asking was taboo.

I don't believe I have ever smoked a Monte #1. But the USPS says my Coloniales are out for delivery as of 0640 this morning. WOOHOO!

Funnily enough, my boxes of Coloniales just showed up today from Ravi. Faster than stuff I've ordered recently from the friendly AUS vendor. And it didn't make three hops across the Pacific like a few of my packages!

Indeed... cracked open the box and pulled one out... took the dog for a walk and enjoyed the hell out of it.

JUL 2020, but Trini ferments 3 times like Cohiba does, so the tobacco is pretty well aged before they roll the futher muckers.

I'm sure it's free if you're buying whole boxes... This was a sampler pack of 5 for $50 plus $17 shipping.
I wanted to try a few kinds without over committing so.......

I have two in my humidor. Not sure how long to wait on them. That’s the only two I have

Got in on the box split coming up so I’ll have to see how long to rest those. Didn’t wanna burn one young then regret it.

Ask fiddler about their age and when to smoke them. Eventually you need to experience young and aged to decide.

Promoting a sale, and I just went for the Monte 1s too. I got some of the San Juan a couple years back and was hoping they got better with time cause wasn't much going on there, do these compare or much better?

Depends. I like the San Juans but I'm leaning toward medium and your statement says thats not enough. Definitely, the Rio Seco are stronger but I would not recommend them to you. Plenty of smaller ring to amp the strength in other marcas. In my experience Hoyo's whole lineup are on the mild-medium spectrum.

Those Monte 1's keep staring at me too (as doe the no. 4's). I just know they're going to end up as a $3-400 box soon with the way HSA has been pricing things lately (especially for the long and skinnies), so it's like "Grab them now" but I've already got so many cigars my storage is overflowing.

Honestly, I don't try many Montes because the few I have had were less than stellar with a mixed in goodie here and there. I thought I'd give it another go because of price and the fact that it may be a size that isn't around much longer possibly. Your comment about the pricing for long and skinny ones makes me feel even better about my purchase though.

Shaun, I've not given an Edmundo to anyone who didn't like it.

Since the Boli CG was discontinued, it's prolly my fave now.

Package delivered and gratefully received.
They have been through a harrowing experience, so I'll let them rest for a few and enjoy them in warmer weather.

I'm saving your addy cause I owe you 1. Don't be surprised if you get a post card one day.

Wow short trip. I'm still waiting on a package from NJ that was shipped 2/12. Always a good idea to let them get used to their new cell mates before they face the firing squad.
