"The figure in the cartoon reminds me of a C.O. (conscientious objector), you know the type they join the military during peace time and grab all the money and benifits and then when war breaks out they yell C.O"

JONR, My family has been involved in every war before during and after the Revolutionary War and due to religious background, many have been C.O.s. A few of those were also KIA. Being a C.O.does not mean nonservice, it means that they don't believe in taking human lives even though it may involve the sacriice of their own life.

Hog - Notice that I have never said that there aren't WMD, what I'm saying is this. If we had proof that they still have WMD, why can't we use that proof to find them? Since we haven't found them it puts that proof in question, and thus our reasons for going to war in question.

the reason for going to war Chris is in the above links... and Our President and Many Many more across this Great Nation did not want to see something like Khamisiyah happen here in this land or anywhere on the globe for that matter!!! it was there (Khamisiyah) and it did happen... and that is why "We the People" acted on the threat of it happening again... Iraq was just a watering Hole for the War on Terror... But we don't have to worry about it becoming a threat as it was a few months back!!! Now it's on to the next one!!!
Take a minute to read some of the links I provided... especially take a minute on the last link above... that one counts to help the Military and the Vets!!!

For those demanding "proof", have you considered just what exactly you would consider to meet your definition of "proof"? The reason why I ask this is I believe that if/when "proof" is presented, there will still be a perhaps significant contingent of people and nations that will discount the "proof" offered as being either not sufficient or deliberated planted by the US military.

So the question is, what exactly do you consider "proof"?

....For the conspiracy theorists, what is the chance that said "proof" already exists and although it could be brought forward, it is being delayed to make the case that much stronger and perhaps just in time for the 2004 elections? Since the economy is picking up, it seems that a fair number of Democrats are betting the farm on fanning anti-war sentiment to take over the White House, although not Joe Lieberman. Does Joe know something?

Rick,
We will have none of that type of language here. Snotty, Wow I never actually knew anyone who said that before. I'm speechless. All I was saying is it historically takes about two years to put together a independent security force. It took two years in Panama, Haiti, Kosavo, and El Salvador. Out service personnel are doing two jobs. Keeping the peace and searching for WMD. We will find them. By the way the attack on the U.N. Office was done with Saddam's explosives. The FBI staff working on the bombing released the info to day. I would not think Saddam would just dispose of WMD because we said to. We asked him to give up and he has not done so. This A$$ hole will stop at nothing, he is a true sociopath. It is all about what he wants and everyone else be damned.
GO ARNOLD GO.

I have nothing useful to offer to this discussion, but this is as close to caring about politics as I can get.

However, just as observation...do any of you who use the terms "liberal" and "conservative" get tired of shackling yourselves to a word by using the opposite word on your "opponents?"

Ah...there I go again...sorry....back to nothing useful to offer.

Billy, no, I love to bash liberals and consider myself a conservative, I’ll never get tired of that.

**NEWSFLASH** Chemical Ali is a P.O.W. We may be learning more about those weapons soon...

i cant see how anyone would be against this war, if you are you must be some sort of commie anti-American trader that should be jailed,

First of all, this war has the least amount of American deaths of any war we have ever been in.

it makes me sick that some so called Americans hide behind (voice of protest) (don’t call us un-American only because we disagree with the leaders of this country) ha what a joke that line of crap is Hillary Clinton said.

We are living in a different world now, with different weapons, the freaking demo-rats and commie liberals would only find something else to cry about if we where not even in a war.

You commies would like the government to tell you every little thing they know, lol, but they can’t do that due to top secret issues, that are top secret to protect our country.

get some brains, if it wasn’t for our country going to war and blowing stuff up, you wouldn’t be here in this great country of ours, running your sicko views in public forums.

What do you liberals think about ww1 and ww2, i guess they where uncalled for too, all them Americans in boxes, huh? Let me tell you something about them people in boxes, they died for you, for your way of life, and they where willing to die for it, they where not handed a gun a forced into combat unwillingly. They are heroes, and for you to think your doing any good by saying I support the troops but im against the war! HAHA you’re only saying that because you don’t want a mob of angry Americans like me to stomp your ass into the ground!!

Yea its harsh but it’s the truth.

Billyjackson - I agree, but some people on this board have only partisan views when it comes to politics, their content to follow their party line and minimize personal thought or growth. Therefore, attacking the opposition with party monikers is much easier than thinking about the real issues objectively.

65gtoman - yawn...

Not trying to start a big battle with these comments, just my .02 cents...

65gtoman,
Yikes! "if you are you must be some sort of commie anti-American trader that should be jailed". You are the one sounding like a commie, or more like a Dictator. Jailing people for having a different view then our leaders sounds kinda tough, its sounds like what Saddam was doing in his country.

There are many reasons to oppose the war. And there are many for it. I don't see how you can't see both. You just have to weigh which is more important to you, and that's why you get two sides of a coin.

And you mention WWI and WWII, but there has been the Korean war, and the Vietnam war. What you think of them? War is harsh and not always necessary. You need to calm down and smoke a nice Bucanero Full Sail.

Chris, since you're so open minded, and not willing to be labeled, could you name the last 5 republicans you voted for? Waiting patiently for an answer I don't expect...
