I've only had the option of voting in two presidential campaigns, both of which I voted democrat. But in our state elections I voted for Trancedo and Allard who are both republicans... (I lived in CO for the last elections)

I vote for the person and their positions on my key issues. I would have voted for McCain for president had GWB not killed him in the primary...

sorry to dissapoint you by answering...

you can't be serious.

" cant see how anyone would be against this war, if you are you must be some sort of commie anti-American trader that should be jailed,"

"freaking demo-rats and commie liberals" i'm not sure i remember hearing that one before, but then i generally listen to FM.

you forgot it's "commie pinko." at least that was what it was in the 50' or the 60's.

"get some brains, if it wasn’t for our country going to war and blowing stuff up, you wouldn’t be here in this great country of ours, running your sicko views in public forums."

yep, we blowed it up real good.

"Let me tell you something about them people in boxes, they died for you, for your way of life, and they where willing to die for it, they where not handed a gun a forced into combat unwillingly."

and all the kids that died in vietnam were volunteers. not one of them was drafted.

"First of all, this war has the least amount of American deaths of any war we have ever been in."

how nice. unless you are the parent or spouse of one of the least amount of deaths.

"a mob of angry Americans like me to stomp your ass into the ground!!"

don't you know that assault is against the law? the threat is the assault, battery is when one strikes another. you are guilty of assault.

i'll bet if you are old enough, and have a few bucks, you have a lot of guns. you know the hunting guns like a thompson submachine gun or a zip gun.

you also hate ****s, jews, and other foreigners, like wet backs that come here and steal jobs that good americans wanted. this is a whiteman's country and we are diluting the blood with these mixed marriages. that's how come there are so many sinnin homo-queers.

i can't agre with you more.

Chris, I don't know enough about the fellows you say you voted for who were GOP since it was local, but having voted for both Clinton and then Gore, and surely "whoever the dems run in 04", you need to face facts, Denial ain't just a river in Egypt...

Rick, I have a bunch of guns, but I don't hate blacks or jews. Are the two somehow related?

is that all you can do RICK is twist things around and put words in my mouth, to anger more weak minded people, please the media does enough of that, i never once said anything about (****s) and i take offence to your words. i also fought side by side with alot of black American hero’s for Uncle Sam in the Land of a Million Elephants and the White Parasol. stop twisting things around like you liberals always do. i would like to know what you ever did for this country besides bad mouth the people that keep our country free.

I bet you where one of those jerks that spit on the troops and called us baby killers when we came back from VIETNAM.

robby - is that the best you can do? It's well known that I do not care for GWB or his stance on many issues, why would I vote for him? However, that does not mean I'll vote Dem in 04. Gotta see the candidates first, but if you only vote the party line I guess that doesn't matter much....

Does anyone ever wonder why the countries that willingly backed the US in this war can be counted on one hand? It must be that they are all commie bastards. I bet all of the f****** "libs" would have rather spent billions on reforms for the poor people in this country, or some other kinda crap rather than blowin s*** up in Iraq. It's a shame. Well, gotta go shoot me some dinner. Maybe I'll bag me a "lib" on the way.

Rick, just imagine Sammy Davis Jr. He was both black AND Jewish, think of the hatred he could evoke in someone who hated both groups. Or would that be like two negative numbers becoming a positive?

what are you mid 40's? i have shoes i bought that are about your age. and they still can be resoled.

we were in vietnam beause some ass hole felt that if north vietnam beat south vietnam in a civil war, a domino effect would occur and all of that area would become under russian control. that would give the russians a place to put missils capable of strinking japan and ultimately getting close enough to launch missils directly at the us. the fact that russia could have launched misils from russia any way, was overlooked.

also overlooked was that vietnam was trying to free itself from french domination, like we did in the revolutionary war. when the french realized they could not win, they decided to cut their losses and just left vietnam.

we sent in a few advisors, assassinated some "gook" that was the president of south vietnam, under the direction of the cia, installed our own puppet and government and began the downword spiral that would lose south vietnam.

the military embellished the tonken bay attack on our
warships and we were commited to lose over 50,00 young childen, average age 19, the youngest average age of any war we fought.

when it was over, we lost a good man, johnson, who was replaced by evil incarnate, nixon, who was finally driven out of office, leaving us with an appointed president, ford, and appointed vice president rockerfeller, much like we have today.

if you have any knowledge about anything, display it. if you think you can win any argument or discussion with some bs about what i did or didn't do or say, you are giving me far too much credit for being able to influence history then i am cable of.

what the hell are you taking about Vietnam for? my question to you was why do you think we are fighting the war we are in right now? for oil? power? or to kill off our troops? answer the question that i asked. and believe me i don’t need nor want to talk about NAM with a person like you.

you post all these comments all the time on the forum, well back it up sonny! tell me why do you think we are fighting this war.

also have you did anything in your long, long life that has helped this country?

i have! i fought for freedom and have a disability from doing so, don’t go telling me about war, its something you will never understand, people like me fought and died for your goddam freedom, so you can sit in your nice house and take pictures of little birds and flowers all day long and talk all this crap without a care in the world.

but just answer my question, about why do you think we are fighting the war we are in now.

65gtoman,
Is the only way one can do something for one's country by fighting in a war and getting shot doing so? Do we have to join the military? Do we have to start petitions and send them to local/state government? Does volunteering time at a food drive or at a local charity count?
To many people, assassinating an unfavorable president would be doing something heroic for a country. So would killing millions of people who were considered a "burden to society".
What i'm getting at, 65gtoman, is that you don't have to go to war to do something for your country.

Docotrs help and even save the lives of thousands of people throughout their lives. Scientists do the research that leads to new drug discoveries that will help your failing heart. Teachers teach and mold children for the future. Would you consider these acts as doing something to help the country?
Some people join the military for a reason, some people become preachers for a reason, some people become postal workers for a reason. We all choose our path, and we all contribute to society. You may have fought in a war, and everyone thanks you for that, but that does not mean that millions of people each day don't do something "significant" for their country.

Amen Spence! And I ain't even religious.

65gtoman-"why do you think we are fighting the war we are in right now?"
I think the lack of a good answer for your question is why Rick is against this war.
