Give that man a cigar!
People in this country need to do some serious soul-searching and ask ourselves: What should the purpose of government be? Over the past few generations, (most) people have decided that they want a government that is all things to all people. Look what we've gotten with that attitude. We have tried the "big government" approach. It has failed. It has left our country bankrupt and under a crippling debt, destroyed our currency, annihilated our civil liberites, nearly wiped out the middle class, given government totalitarian powers over our relationships, wallets, property, and privacy. It has filled our prisons with nonviolent "criminals". It has destroyed our respect on the world stage.
But do you know what I fear the most? I fear that when the dollar crashes, we go into inflationary freefall, and unemployment reaches 20%, instead of scaling back government, people will demand even MORE government.
