Dr. Madd must be having a bad day, why some people feel a need to lash out, especially in a friendly forum such as this is beyond me. Too bad him and others can't create there own chat area, problem is, it would be short lived because they would tire of each other very quickly.

As to vehicle, takes me back to my first monster car, 1970 Z28 Camero, could outrun the CHP Ford's 428's or was it 429's??, glad they didn't have your car back then, I still might not be driving, lol,. Proud to say have since cooled my jets. Also, ditto to the tragedy you deal with in your employment, most of us don't realize the horrible things police officers have to endure at times. Last dig, (I only lash out when someone says something totally stupid), It's easy for a Mr. Madd to be all F$%k Up in his thinking, looking from the outside/in. No one really knows other peoples business, until they walk in the same shoes. The exception would Mr. Madd that knows all, I quess if he had his way, you would be on bicycle peddling very fast in apprehending speeders going 100 + mph. What an idiot!!

CulleyJC52, boy, you got me remenising about my 1st Muscle Car. A 1970 Mustang "Mach 1". 4 Barrel 351 Cleveland, Shaker Factory Scoop with "real" Ram Air. It was a beauti & Fast. Those were the "good old days". You could work on anything yourself on those cars.

Magnafide,

We must be same age, my best friend had Mach I, two of my other friends had 442 and Roadrunner, where I grew up we had grudge races at local drag strip. My Z averaged hi 12's in quarter. They were all great cars as long as they were going in straight line, weren't much handling.

In late 70's I graduated up to 1978 911T, had speed and handling. Now drive Chevy truck and Honda CRV, what the hell happened??????? lol

First of all it is a nice car.Second of all I agree with Drmaddvibe,I think it's overkill, you say it's money well spent as a specified purpose vehicle.I say you don't need $2000 rims on any patrol car unless that money comes out of your own pocket. Also, you don't need that car to chase freakin truck drivers.

Rayder don't get me wrong here but do you really think an officer posted at an intersectin for 2-3 hrs each day at rush hour to catch a couple of guys running yellow from a left hand turn lane(they call it red) lights is money well spent? Yes I was one of the guys he decided to pull over. But I did not blantently run a red light, wich is what he said I did.Hell I wasn't even the last car through the intersection. Then he began a 20-30 minute lecture/sermon.I finally had to stop him and say look officer I aint in the mood for a sermon right now,I've got other sh*t on my mind, either write me the ticket or let me go...:0)He wrote the ticket but it was better than sitting there being lectured to!

CJ is the one on this thread who cracks me up the most. You seem pretty damn comfortable when the posters are in agreement with you, otherwise it's I wish these other people could find another forum to post on...LOL

Well IMNSHO it's the whiners and the nitpickers that are the cause of most of the problems.I'll have to go look again, but I'll finish typing first. Was it the Dr or was it you,CJ,that took the first "personal" jab?Hmmmmmmm?

Must be another KIA driver jealous that he has to drive car with hubcaps instead of mags. If he only knew mags don't cost $20,000., he could get some too. Also, the way your writing, I bet you missed your AA meeting today.

DrMaddVibe raises what is for me, an interesting viewpoint ... in my life, I've observed that ther is such a thing as a "typical cop" attitude ... I think it's fair to say, that more cops exhibit that attitude than the more noble, friend of the community, good-guy defender of the citizenry at large ...

Quite frankly, while I think that a guy of my age with my background and viewpoint SHOULD be a cop's best friend, I am leery of cops in general and do not feel that they are necessarily my friend, simply by being a cop ... more often than not, the opposite is true ...

BUT ... that stereotypical attitude does not apply to all cops by any means ... in their posts on the board and in my personal communiction with Rookie and Sgt Crossbones, for example, I don't see that attitude in anything they've ever said ... I regard those guys as friends ... I see my son making a conscious effort to avoid taking on the stereotypical personna ... and there are a handful of others I know who do likewise, guys who are decent folks, who DO have a good outlook, who DO work hard to do their jobs the right way and resist falling into the "typical cop' trap ...

Rayder1, in my observation, is clearly a "good-cop" ... not only have I seen his work here and exchanged personal notes, I've had the pleasure of being around him in person ... and Doc, while I really do think you've got a legitimate bone to pick with a hell of a lot of cops, I gotta tell you, Rayder isn't one of them ... if someone IS gonna stop you on the highway, I'd say you should hope it's him or a guy a lot like him ... that's MY viewpoint and I'm stickin' with it ...

dr madvibe doesn't like anyone. since i have stopped posting for a while, he went for you rayder1. you don't have to show him your credentials. anyone with half a brain knows the reason you wear a gun, is because it might be needed.

maybe we should all go down to the good dr's job and help him hold the shovel.

Again SORRY ABOUT THAT CJ...LOL

Funny story but kind of a long.We moved in here about 4 years ago, just renting(I really need to buy a place but it just hasn't worked out yet).Mary had been looking around and I really didn't care because it was temporary, all I wanted was a connecting garage and a rather large patio and a good sized kitchen. This one lacks the kitchen but Mary likes it..SO

I show up early and I'm talking to the next door neighbor for 20-25 minutes before the landlord shows up.NICE GUY(the neighbor)! We go inside and I look the place over and I too like it except for the small kitchen, anyways I sign the lease and I'm standing out front saying goodbye to the LL and Mary. Not two minutes later the neighbor pulls out of his garage in his cruiser complete with police dog! WTF!!!! LOL...Looks like I aint gonna see any of my highschool buddies for a while...LOL

First 4th of July,I ask him if he's going down to the clubhouse for the fireworks display. No he says,I did the first couple of years we lived here and it's a good time but he's going down to the beach for a keg party.I said but it's againts the law to have a kegger on the beach. He says NO it's against the law for "you" to have a keg party on the beach. All the while smiling :0)....I hate cops...LOL present company and neighbors excluded!!!

Let me clear something up. I wasn't the one that posted that I drive a county car 100+ miles per hour. Hell, everytime I see a STATE COP he's parked in some median behind a hill, a tree and his badge waiting to pull over a speeder.

I wish I had a 100 bucks every time a cop blew by me like I'm standing still as I'm doing the speed limit with no lights on. I didn't say cops eat doughnuts or derogate anything from your pristine profession. The simple fact that you had to write an outline defending yourself and jumping me only proved one thing. You don't need the hot rod car!

Anyone else that wanted to dogpile, had better take a long look at what I wrote. Read it again. There's nothing between the lines there.

While I'm at it...In my line of work I don't have to "sneak" up on ANYBODY. It's rude, disingenuous and certainly not professional for anybody, anywhere!

If you have to, then it only goes to show what type of a person/group you are!
