Rad, my hat goes off to you and all other men and women in law enforcement...we gripe at times, but when we need you, you're suddenly our best friends.
This smokes for you!

By the way, don't even pay attention to some postings here....apparently someone's pet monkey knows how to hunt and peck;)

Thank's for the supportive and amusing posts.
The wheels are nothing special. They are the stock aluminum wheels that come with any V-8 Camaro. Now our Public Affairs have 10 or so of these in black and white with polished aluminum rims.

The reality of this is, the car is useful but sometimes useless as a cop car. No room for stuff, let alone other people. Makes it hard to help a family of 4 off the freeway from a broken down car.

The purpose of this car is the same as our other specially marked patrol vehicles. To be low profile and reduce the ability of being spotted easily by truck drivers and high speed car drivers.

We have white Crown Vics, which I used to drive. Pickups (black and white). We ran out of Mustangs 4-5 years ago. Years ago we had blue and white, and brown and white cars..Chevy Caprice tuna boats.

It is just something different I wanted to post, not a political statement.

If the boss called and said that he wanted me to trade this for a, roomier and easier on the back, white Crown Vic, I would probably go with the Ford. 9 hours a day I prefer a more comfortable "office".

CHP isn't the only department with these. I found a lot of sites showing these cars all across the country. Coming soon to a freeway near you!

Maybe I'll post a picture of the inside...to show how stuff is squezed in.

My personal experience with the local law enforcement was, got a ticket for driving 55 mph. in a 45 mph. zone.

Ok, I was at fault, I paid the fine. Done.

The other day, while driving at the same exact place where I recieved the ticket,I happened to be behind 3 Sheriffs patrol cars. Going up the hill they were going 60+ ????? They all drove to the sub-station under no apparent emergency, with no above lights on.????

Don't get me wrong here... it just is a "JOKE" that a patrol car can drive down my street at 35+ in a 25mph zone.????????? and anywhere else he so desires......

And It will always be an issue with me.........

It is all Bull****...Bull****...Bull****.

Have a nice day.

PS. nice car, Vrooom.... Vroommm...

Jim, I DO think it is money well spent considering that most traffic accidents occur when someone disobeys a red light at an intersection

This shows the ignorance of several of you here...I don't tell a carpenter what doesn't appear right in his/her job, etc....There are numerous times when an officer has to get to a call fast (alarm, back another officer, etc) but isn't justified in using emergency equipment..Don't assume that when you see an officer "apparently" speeding for no reason that it's for "no reason"...`County officers has a huuuuge area to cover and sometimes has to drive 50 plus miles between calls in a timely fashion...You people p*ss me off sometimes..Very ignorant

It's not always is an EMERGENCY!!!!(come on)

That's why hundreds of "INNOCENT" people are "KILLED" due to non-emergency pursuits...

Holier than thou COPS piss me off.

Now, go off and break the LAW and speed around on so called "EMERGENCY" calls on "OUR" tax dollars.

You are not a privately paid contractor, soooo, I can complain as MUCH I want.

Re-read the POSTS title (tough Job?).

Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer, GOOO

You left out the last "Go speed racer" to the song, you ignorant moron!

And Rookie, don't be so ignorant either...IF the carpenter was a public servant, you'd have EVERY right to complain to them. No comparison here.

I sense MAJOR issues on this thread...Whew! It's getting hot in here...so take off all your clothes...{I am getting so hot, I wanna take my clothes off!}

Huh?

What...

Forgive me for posting a picture of a police car.

This thread got way off on a tangent. Now that those who choose to disrupt have made themselves known...lets follow SteveS advice. It is much more rewarding to mentally toss aside ignorance than to respond to it directly.

There are those who just don't like police. They are the same people who say "pig" under their breath when you walk by in uniform.

They are the same ones who cry like a baby when you call them on it or catch them doing something wrong.

(sorry..wife had to log on and check something)

Lets just get back to talking about cigars.

I would be hard pressed to ignore the OpusX eleltea. But I've had to pass on way more interesting offerings than a good cigar. But then again...if you just send me one now...we can negotiate ahead of time.

Rayder, feel free to post pictures of as many patrol cars as you can!!!! And for the monkeys of the bunch (you know who you are...) I believe members of law enforcement should be paid more for what they do!

You could buy more stogies!!!!

E-Chick, You and no one else have no right to judge someone's else's profession unless you've been in their shoes and have done the same job...that's what I meant when I said I don't have the right to second guess a carpenter working on my house unless I actually know what the job entails...I don't tell my doctor what I think he should do unless I have real facts and a complete knowledge of what a doctor's job entails...A lot of ignorant people here who shoot their mouth off freely without real facts, just ignorance

Longashes,
What exactly IS a "non-emergency pursuit"?..What I think about is would I initiate/continue a pursuit if my family was up ahead on the street driving?...99/100 times the answer is NO.
Of course you have the right to "complain"...We all do..However, when you critizize an officer for speeding because "it looks like he's not on an emergency and his/her lights aren't on", that's simple ignorance unless you know the rules and regs of being a police officer, and if those rules and regs are being violated by his/her actions (which they are not), then you have a basis to complain..You simply don't know what you're talking about

It wasn't your pic, these jerks come out of the closet at every opportunity they get. They have no life or self esteem, they love their computer, because they can pretend to be what they are not.
