WTF?

It smells like a fn french whorehouse here....nauseating...why the fluck do these 'women' feel the need to bathe in cheapazz perfume...wait...not just the women...not to be outdone, some of the men are as bad....only thing I can guess is they are trying to cover up even worse smells...

anyone work in a 'scent-free' workplace? sounds idyllic

WE have an ESD room here where static electricity, temp, humidity, uv light, and air is filtered and regulated. Most of the guys that work in that room could probably use some smell good though.

Just go on a coughing jag whenever you are near them.

Really whoop it up too...grab a garbage can and start retching into it...if you can puke...do it.

Do THAT for a week and maybe your boss will take pity and send out a memo.

Today is probably a good day to launch into the nearest, worst offender. I lit into her an hour ago for holding a loud speaker-phone enabled conference call with two others at her desk behind me. I've already established that I'm a ****** today, so probably should just let her know that not only is she an inconsiderate loud-mouth, but that she's polluting the atmosphere as well.

Simply gagging, holding your nose, or even making general comments rarely works; idiots like this rarely see fd up behavior in themselves until you confront them directly

Count your blessings... a jail smells like feet and ass 24/7, but after a while you get nose blind to it.

While there's certainly nothing pleasant about smelling feet and ass, I suspect it'd be preferable to the nostril-searing stench this gal bathed in this morning. I've always had a strong aversion to just about any perfume. I recognize that I'm far from the norm....that most people must appreciate perfume or cologne a lot more than I do or it wouldn't be a $40B market. OTOH, I am much more immune to natural smells that many dislike....paper mills, manure, skunk, etc...none bother me like cheap perfume does....I suppose there's a couple exceptions.....rotting human flesh is one of the few things I can think of that's worse than this office today

I must not have a very good sense of smell, because I just can't be brought to care that much.

Always seemed odd to me that people would care enough to lobby for scent free workplaces and whatnot.
But then again, what sense of smell I had has been burnt off by the constant scent of urine and sh#t on my daily walk to the car.

It depends on what scent and how much scent you need to spritzle In my environment. If I'm eating and any scent overpowers my eating experience. I will be a complete assshole!

I worked with a woman, several years back, the strong perfumes would trigger her asthma and she would go into coughing fits and had a hard time catching her breath. The perfume wearers that sat around her were politely told to tune it down. Eventually, her seat had to get moved. Sometimes it can be a bit much.

I generally like good smells but I'm allergic to most scent rods.

Suprizingly the smell of Skoal and grizzly tobacco makes me want to vomit but Copenhagen is just fine with me.

We have people that put up signs in their cubes that say 'Your perfume, my poison"

We have less of a problem in our office because the VP of HR is allergic to perfume.
