Agreed. I only got the rip van winkle by bribing a liquor store manager i know....

I got lucky at Binny's before they stared allocating to their customer loyalty club by expenditure. The more you spent, the better your chances. Fuckers. The closet one is 3 hours from my house so I don't get there much.

Mine are all at least 7 years old at this point. LOL. Nursing them baby, nursing them!

Lol. When i first asked my guy about getting pappy he told.me he had customers that spent big money on biurbon and the allocated stuff went to them first. I only got on hos list because he wanted my fire department jacket.

Holy crap. Our Fareway store has 15 year old Whistlepig Rye for $199 a bottle. Can't see that.

Anybody had cask strength Makers Mark? Thoughts on that one?

Cask Strength MAker's is better than the original. But, I prefer a whiskey/bourbon that is over 100 proof. If you like wheated bourbon, you will like it.

Last couple of nights has been an old "tear label" bottle of Russell's Reserve.I don't know the difference, but the guys in these Facebook bourbon groups trip out at all my older bottles. I bought it around 5+ years ago, so I don't keep up, just know it was bought then because I sign and date the bottom of every bottle. It's good, that's all that matters to me.

I'm about to head out to Nashville for the weekend, dual duty visit. We began with going to the Nelson's Green Brier Distillery for my wife's birthday and happens to be the release tomorrow of their Belle Meade/Tru Bee Honey Special Cask release. Only available at the 'stilry. SO, I have a wonderful and understanding wife that's gonna let me trail on her birthday and be able to get two bottles of that wonderful goodness. This year should be easier because they have done 4 barrels instead of one.

OK. I'm putting a mooch out.

I bought a bottle of Jim Beam Repeal batch in honor of my CQB partner and fellow instructor Chas LIne. Call sign "Buttertop Wheat Bread Head" when we were teaching at FTC San Diego. Chas was a Beam guy from way back, and we lost him a few years ago.

But I love this stuff. It is an amazing bourbon. If anyone has a lead on some, please please let me know. I will be happy to cover costs as long as it's not stupid money.

Thank you Lads. Greatly appreciated.

Have you thought about contacting the distillery and seeing if they can point you in the right direction?

Thank you. Let me know the tarrif, I'll get it out.

I don't know what the deal is here. We had it, and then "poof". Gone. The distributors here are tools, that doesn't help. Not talking

Whiskey Acres Straight Rye Whiskey. A boutique distillery in Dekalb, Illinois. Aged a minimum of "2 years". It is actually pretty good considering. 87.6 proof, but smooth, none of that "raw alcohol" burn. I like it.

Basil Hayden's Dark Rye. It's good. A definite port nose to it with my new glen-cairn glasses. I really like these glasses.

My new favorite in addition to springbank 12 cask strength is glendronach 15 revival. If you see it, get it.

Started with my Canadian Whisky reserve.
Then, had to have a few shots of Dickel.
Then, felt it appropriate to kill a ration of Knob Creek.

I've grown too spoiled.
But just had to have a Knobber...

I’ve always heard about the Philly cheesesteak.
And I’ve always wanted to try one.
But if it makes ya gay, I’m really not interested.

But hey, what’s TW up to?
