Although I've never been a fan of it, drinking a gin & tonic using The Botanist gin.

However (...said in my best Stephen A, Smith voice...), I did bring home the box with my Elmer T. Lee bottles today. Happy, happy. ThumpUp

Hahaha! Would "I'm a slow drinker" be a valid excuse / reason? Two of the 3 bottles were gifted so I've been blessed by some very fine people (...Plowboy and Delta...).

Edit - the 2 gifted bottles came from my wife / daughter/ SIL / son and Delta. I drank up the bottle from

Once upon a time I drank JW Black before I discovered single malt scotch. After discovering single malt in 80-81, I have never taken another drink of blended.

As far as the JW Black, not to bad as blends go.

And I do like the 18yo G/fiddich.

Rare Eagle 17 yo. My youngest son shared a couple drinks from a bottle he stumbled into two years ago.

This is probably the best tasting Kentucky bourbon I have tasted in my 7 month bourbon journey.

JW Black is pleasant, drinkable, and forgetable. Buy a 12 year Speyside, or Highland. For an inexpensive Speyside I would recommend Glen Moray 12.

No, think of Glen Moray as the little brother of Glenmorangie Sherry cask 12. Fairly recently the we're both part of the same company. They are now individual entities. I think they border each other. Glen Moray is a lighter style but very good. I havent bought it in awhile, but it was about $25.00 a bottle. Most Speysides and Highlands are not overly peaty. Islays on the other hand are very peaty. Think Laphroaig or Lagavulin.

HIGHLY recommend the crushed ice over the cubed.

I really tried to let it "rest"..but that's why I got the bottle...going back for more now!

Ice in single malt, why?

Bushmills 16yo single malt. No H2O of any type.

As I said, I usually like it neat, but sometimes cooling it with one cube opens it up. Or adding a few drops of cold water.

Ever tried just two or three drops of water? Amazing what it will do to the flavor profile.
