wow. first you drink all the Blantons in the whole country, then Shaun sends you another?
what a club we belong to, eh?

anyhoo...tonight:

tough day, opened with BalconesTexas Single Malt..106 proof
followed by Four Roses Single Barrel Barrel Strength (one of them barrels that a local can claim)...106.4 proof
washed down with Baker's 107 proof

The Four Roses came in third place.

No ices were harmed during this production.

The other day when I picked up that liter of Jim Beam Double Oak I also wanted to pick up a handle of my everyday swill,Evan Williams 1783.Both stores in Wichita Falls were out of handles and only had 750's or liters...........didn't look that close. After looking around I saw a few handles of Henry McKenna and remembered it to was a Heaven Hill offering, all my faves seem to originate from this distillery.I snatched the handle up and brought it home.Tonite I decided to pour a few fingers in my favorite glass.........if you like corn, love me some shine, this is outstanding.Doesn't have the complexity of 1783 but it's a damn good young sour mash.Glass #2.........CHEERS MATES!!!

Speyburn 10. Worth a shot at the price point. But I think I'll return to my shoulder's namesake.

My dad's favorite is Hibiki 12 by suntory. Having a hard time finding the 12, the harmony seems to be here in it's place. Demand must have killed the age statement.
