It was never early enough for you.

It would be up to the distillery to sell a light barrel. But honestly, I wouldn't buy it unless I tasted it.

To answer your question.....yes I'm sure it could be done. Today it's all about volume with bourbon. Only those that order a lot of product get to pick barrels.

In that particular instance, the gentlemen who wound up with the personalized bottles was on the barrel picking trip and they tasted and enjoyed the barrel. When they realized it was light they worked out a deal with the retailer to buy the whole barrel worth and as the retailer gets to put stuff on the side of the label that's how he wound up with a custom.

I'd love to be able to do that for Cbid ;D Do you attend the barrel picks? The ones I've been on w/ BT and Beam the distributor reps have accompanied us.

Correct. The single barrel and small batch are 6 bottle cases. The yellow label comes in 12.

When my accounts select barrels, I have the options of going with them. I planned to go in November, but the guys wanted to take an extra day in Memphis. My schedule wouldn't allow me to spend that extra day.

I think we are picking a 1792 barrel in February I'll have to see how my calendar looks as we get closer.

For Christmas I received:

A bottle of 1792 Single Barrel #41 from my BIL Bottled for OPPERMANNS Cork N Ale in Sag. MI.

Also received a bottle of Virginia Black from my Son Elliott ( tried @ Bourbonfest in INDY this Dec. and liked it )
Also received a bottle of Chattanooga 1816 Reserve from my other BIL

Tried and then purchased a bottle of Mayor Pingree Bourbon red label ( do not let the four year aging hold you back, my cigar smoking BIL's and I thought it was exceptional. )

One of the locals here has a 1792 Full Proof barrel pick. It was goooood. I didn't buy a bottle for some odd reason... will if I go back anytime soon.

How is this going to work with distribution?

I have no doubt I can get as many cases as y'all want.

And do we have someone volunteering to collect?

I've never done a mass deal like this so bring me up to speed

I really didn't expect this much interest.

Someone chime in with a great idea......I am in school plus full time job so I don't have time to do it all.

After knowing the price per bottle, shipping and knowing who wants what maybe this'll fall into place.

I can handle a few folks from the Ocean Springs location. They only have three selections and one is running short. Bottles are $65 including tax and shipping will be on top.

Let me know if this will help

OESK

A little better than I can get as a walk up customer. $60.40 before tax and with tax $65.

Not me, I just finished my afternoon break......about 4 hours late. We've got packed snow that's now 2-4 inches of ice, and where it's clear is black ice. Barely made it home with chains on. Thanks for the prayers Mattie...😄

I'm in Oregon so I can't help with pick up and shipping.

So here is the low down.

$60 per bottle. I think shipping was $25 to send frank 2 bottles.

So let just say a bottle is $85

I guess the best thing to do is collect money and then mail out to individuals. That's how I'm willing to do it.
Of course if Frank would just come pick them up, it would be cheaper for everyone.

I could only bring myself to pay 85 if it said cbid on the side!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed that my local has a sale again but I'm not holding my breath =( 2 Christmas ago it was 34.99 on xmas eve and at some point last year was 44.99 (I may have already said that my mind is mush).

Also I did some digging and think I may be a hoarder. I have:

OESF x2
OESO x2
OESK x1
OESQ x2
OESV x1

OBSQ x1
OBSV x1
OBSF x1

Missing OBSK and OBSO although I've been through 2 bottles of OBSK.

My goal was to taste all of them blind and see which I like most...

Also appears that I have Elijah Craig Barrel Proof batches 5 and 7-12. Anyone got any couple year old ECBPs sitting around Angel

Have you had the 14 finished in the bourbon barrels. I disliked that one as well. The more I try, the more I just think I should stick to Auchentoshen and Balvenie.

WT101 is great regardless of pricing - value coincidental to quality
