Both of us are up by 4:30 - 5:00 every day in the summer. Gotta beat the sun when you are a lizard.

Got racecar put back together, but not testing or trying to take to the track. Still needs fluids. Buddy paying for a tow so I'll take him instead.

Went to the store and picked up a 3lb salmon fillet. Started dressing it and seasoning some zucchini to grill, boiled some water to make rice. Then wife kicked me out of the kitchen for making a mess. She's now baking fries in the oven for dinner and put my stuff away. Guess my dinners gotta wait a few more hours.

On to oil changes in truck and wife's car

A 4 pm desert thunderstorm chased me out of the pool. Beat it for the porch to keep my library book and La Virite '09 from getting soaked. Sitting under the porch enjoying the 30 degree drop in temp and cool breeze. Wet desert creosote after a storm has a wonderful aroma.

I am at 36 hours straight and wanting to crash badly. Yesterday was 87 over here, so sleeping at my dads house while I watched him was out of the question. No AC....... just got home from there a little bit ago and I worked last night........... I either need an IV Coffee drip, or a good sleep.......

Back from ATL, Mrs Monkey greeted me with scotch and a nice dinner. Still mulling over the potential job offer. After working 16 hour days and averaging 4 hours sleep a night, Iā€™m a bit tired.

Seems like a different world at the next step on the corporate ladder. If the monetary consideration can knock a couple years off of the projected retirement date, and Mrs. Monkey is onboard- charge.

The watchout is the work life balance. Something which until recently I was botching horribly.

Worked 12 hours of OT. Half the shift was my guys/gals working overtime as well. All the sergeants on my shift worked OT today.

Gotta pay for gas and bait, yo.

Grilled the salmon. Salt n peppered, light sprinkle of dry rosemary and covered with lemon slices. Turned out fantastic.

Served it up with grilled zucchini and garlic lemon rice.

Morning all. Allergy season is such a pain. Coughing and sneezing my fool head off. This time of year Alegra and Flonase only take the edge off.

Farm raised salmon is good...more consistent than wild caught, better that a lot of wild caught, but not as good as the best wild caught. Cheaper, too.

Mower deck fell off the lawn tractor while mowing. Kinda knew it was coming, been ignoring the crack for over a year.

Pulled it off, welded back together, put it back on and finished mowing.

Now got the flatbed hitched up to head up to Chicago to pickup a buddy's racecar to take to track tomorrow.
