Everyone have a great 4th.

Nerve ablation (neck) scheduled tomorrow, so no alcohol or cigars today. Even with this minor setback, I will enjoy plenty of food today.

Be safe.

Don't put firecrackers in/on/near your genitals no matter how drunk you are, or how good the date sounds. Don't put lit firecrackers anywhere near your body.

This is a public service announcement

Tacos n beer with the in laws, then fireworks in the back yard a bit. Then it stormed and we hung out in the garage to wait it out. But it didn't stop. Went back home.

Aw, man. Was hoping you were working. Get our Dark itch scratched hearing of ER fireworks stories.

Neighborhood sounds like a war zone tonight.

I worked last night. Only notable fireworks injury was one who came in for a burn. Apparently let their friends tape a bundle (said 30) large sparklers in the hand at once, and light them. Didn't see the patient myself, but was told it was bad. Meat was falling off the bone.

Had the usual burns and falls and drunken shenanigans. Last year's urethral laceration was the most notable in the last few years. Did have a drunken motorcycle trauma but we stabilized and flew it out.

Coworker was killed yesterday, so put a damper on the excitement over accident an injury reports.

Still waiting on huge amounts of information from the client. I only have one more section I can work on. Going to try to get that done tonight.

Didn't sleep much last night, 2 hours ish on the couch watching TV. First night off after 7 12's can't adjust that quickly.

No work tonight, back to work tomorrow for another 3 12's. I always do 84 hours/7 days but don't get much overtime since they consider a week to be Sun-Sat and my week overlaps the Saturday midnight. Switched weekends with someone so I could go to racetrack next weekend, so I'll have 60+ hours on this payweek, plus the holiday pay. Should be a nice paycheck for the wife.

Taking family to beach today. Was gonna go to a local pool but $10/head to get in is more than I got in my pocket. $7/car to go to the beach at Indiana Dunes, so we're gonna head up there. No puppy dogs this time. Last time we went the lifeguard people kept coming by on their ATVs and telling us to put the dog on a 6 foot leash. She loves to swim, but not on a leash. Don't really feel like dealing with it, or walking a half mile down the beach to where we can let her swim free.

It wasn't the same without them.

But it did allow us to park the truck for an hour while we had a beer and ate poutine at shoreline brewery in Michigan City.
