This will be a scorched earth war against mosquitoes in my back yard. I will use the Thermacell to repel the critters from the place where I smoke. The blood thirsty suckers will be very angry and hungry, so they may be susceptible to some subterfuge. I will position the Sunbeam Zapper lantern attract to kill device in a location outside the repel zone, at least 15 feet away from smoke central. The Thermacell will force the bugs over to the Sunbeam lantern, where they will be zapped.

Results will be posted after several days of battle...

Someone should make a Faraday cage for smoking cigars, with continuous bug-zapper mesh all around so you sit inside and for skeeters to get at you they have to fly THROUGH the zapper grille.

Open air, sweet sound of zapping in all directions, no bugs!

And no cell phone service ------ maybe that's another plus!

I'm just surprised Al has mosquitoes around. He's only 30 miles or so from me and I've been here 18 years... it's too fkn dry for skeeters! I ain't seen a one.

Watching England on the deck. Cigar and coffee. Not a bad way to start the day.

Was just typing this.... England has had the better of it in every way except for the scoreboard.

They just settled that.

Dog walk and bike ride completed before the game.

I was not that productive. Alarm went off to get up for a run and I flat turned that shi+ off. I did shower before kickoff, so I’m counting that as a personal victory.

Showering?

Show off. I don't have that level of ambition.

Tooth brushing and a drive to the local for a cigar is all I have left in the tank.

Wtf? Not a huge ketchup guy, but don't a ton of people eat it with eggs and hash browns and other breakfast foods? Shouldn't they already have it on hand? Or maybe they've been in breakfast world so long they're out of touch and thought ketchup was strictly a breakfast condiment so they chucked it all when they became transedible...

I have a deep freezer in the garage. We got it from my wife's uncle years ago for $100. I think this thing has to be 25+ years old, because we've had it for damn near 20. The brand name is Gibson, IIRC.

Slow night at work.

Hopefully I can get outta working tonight. Maybe take call instead, and get started on race car.

Think I have a solution to the oil blowing out of the turbo problem. Gotta pull engine out and apart though. And then gotta get it back together and sorted by Friday.

It's doable, but I've grown lazy and haven't messed with cars much in 5+ years. Would be a 5 hour job for me back in the day. Think it's gonna be a 5 day job now.

Good Morning. Another trip to a mall this morning so my wife can return whatever clothes she doesn't like that came in the mail this week. I like to call it "reverse shopping".

87/110 The monsoon is starting with thunderstorms predicted all week.

Four mile fast walk for me and a 20 mile jaunt in the '41 Ford truck hot rod because us old guys need exercise to keep our gears oiled.

Then one of us is going in the pool.

Picked up a little wedge table for the deck. Then spent three hours out there enjoying a low humidity, 82 degree day.

Picked up my car trailer to finish bearings and brakes.

Finished them but lost a lot of blood in the process. Mosquitos are absolutely brutal. Couldn't start on the car.

Grilling some zucchini.

If I get called in to work I'm gonna smell like axle grease, charcoal, and cigars

I got one up on you with IHOB. Went to one, thought I'd try one. No burger buns. Ordered one on a hot dog bun anyway. Underwhelming and overpriced. Not even worth it for breakfast which I thought about but was turned off by menu. Anyone shorting this stock yet?

Exhausted... Was an idiot this past weekend...

Got up at 6am sat... Drove 2+ hours to the dive site...
Looked around... Couldn't see anyone... No reception up there, but fortunately had the page open on my phone.... When I look at it, of course I realize the dive is tomorrow.

Turned around and drove home.

Then of course stayed up till 230am because it was our anniversary...
Then up at 6am again to drive 2+ hours to the dive site Sunday.

Equipment was problematic... My BCD inflator was a weird 2nd air source as well as inflator... Had no idea because I've never tried one of those... And it leaked. So I kept it disconnected from my air source of I wasn't losing air the whole dive... But that meant I had to manually inflate my BCD underwater to maintain neutral buoyancy.

So every new and then, under water, I would have to take my regulator out of my mouth... Breathe into my BCD inflator... Keep enough air in my lungs to purge my regulator when I put it back in my mouth, purge the regulator and then continue breathing.... ... Gonna have to get that fixed.
