Got a bit sunburned while we were out. Used sunscreen but 95 degrees and 90% humidity meant it rinsed right off. Sweatproof only works if you can stop sweating for a minute to apply.

Oh well.

Home and grilling a chicken after the thunderstorms let up.

Also it seems my homegrown mosquitos don't give a damn about DEET. It's bad.

I got one of those bug repellent lanterns that doesn't work very well...get several bites each time I turn it on and sit near it while smoking a cigar out in the patio at night...

Sunbeam Bug Zapper...some bugs do fly into the light and get zapped, their carcasses are on the device, but not enough...

edin508 told me about thermacell. I have a small lantern but never use the light. Butane cartridge and a blue pad that emits stuff to repel skeeters. Rather repel than attract to kill.
covers 15 ft x 15 ft depending on wind strength, more than enough for a cigar smoker or two.

I'm so confused, I'm not sure now if I should stay home or go in now.

My Wednesday was like a Sunday, but yesterday felt more like a Tuesday. With being off today if feels like a Saturday with hints of Friday- which it is. Think

Saturday will be my Friday. Sunday is my Saturday, Monday is my Sunday and Tuesday is just a bonus day off. Wednesday would have been a second bonus day, but I got greedy.Anxious

Put the Sunbeam lantern in another part of the back yard last night. Farther away from where I sat. Only one bite instead of a couple or more...

Thanks for the info, Sir. I'll definitely check the Thermacell out.

Repel rather than attract to kill sounds like a promising alternative...especially since the attract to kill seems to be ineffective ...

Now I'm really confused. Iffn' you attract a skeeter you can't kill it, you have to throw 'em back? Is there a size limit?

This will be a scorched earth war against mosquitoes in my back yard. I will use the Thermacell to repel the critters from the place where I smoke. The blood thirsty suckers will be very angry and hungry, so they may be susceptible to some subterfuge. I will position the Sunbeam Zapper lantern attract to kill device in a location outside the repel zone, at least 15 feet away from smoke central. The Thermacell will force the bugs over to the Sunbeam lantern, where they will be zapped.

Results will be posted after several days of battle...

I had bought one of those propane burner attracting/kill trap things that gotta be plugged in. Put it out in the yard and caught millions of skeeters. Didn't make any difference in the amount that came to the deck.

The skeeters in Mn & Wi are the size of hummingbirds.

Some fools think
Of happiness, blissfulness, togetherness
Some fools fool themselves, I guess
They're not foolin' me
I know it isn't true I know it isn't true
Love is just a lie made to make you blue
Love hurts
Ooh love hurts

Happy Saturday fellas.

Work kinda sucked tonight. Showed up to find out I had a trainee (was stripped of those duties for yelling at new people) but I behaved. Then at 11p got floated to another unit where I always get in trouble for yelling at stupid people. Been behaving so far. 3 hours to go.
