Wife working late this evening.....dilemma.....after work, I could go to annual HOA meeting at which it is always hard to get a quorum and I feel a slight obligation.....or go fishing for a couple/few hours....pretty sure the HOA is going to be short once again

They fired up the tractor for the tractor ride and for a split second, the cool morning breeze and the smell of diesel had me thinking I was onboard the endeavor...

Wife just interviewed for a part time job at a church. 4-6 hours a week, at the pastor's house.

A church that fired their last person in that position after they were "talking about things that should have been kept private"

Hm.

I dunno why she shared that about the prior employee with me. I would've probably thought it innocuous without that information.

I've always assumed she had side gigs, but I don't want to know who it is and especially not that she doing it for money.

My flatbed / car trailer roasted a wheel bearing in August when a buddy was picking up a car in Detroit. After a 12 hour cumulative trip we got his car and my trailer home and I stashed it till camping season was over. Already cost me over a hundred in fuel to get the car and trailer home.

Brought the trailer home on Saturday. Had the busted axle held up with a strap through the deck, riding on 3 wheels. Made it home from Detroit that way.

Axle I wanted, Dexter 3500lb with auto adjusting brakes, was $300ish but then $120 shipping and only to a commercial address with forklift or loading dock. A place I used to work for I use for commercial delivery requirements but $120 for shipping seems excessive. If I wanted liftgate residential delivery it was $225.

Found one on Amazon without auto adjusting brakes for $275 and free delivery. It doesn't have a brand name, and no auto adjusting brakes, but hopefully it fits. I gave them all my measurements to make the axle. My trailer isn't standard, which is what makes it hard.Typically a 3500lb axle has 5 on 4.5 hubs. Mine's 5 on 5, and 16" wheels (15" standard) and 97" face to face (95" standard). Just slightly different than standard on every single measurement which makes things a million times more difficult than they need to be.

I'm kinda drunk. Might be Hamk'ing it tonight. Depends on if I shipost here or head over to reddit

I was more than kinda drunk yesterday. Pretty sure I woke up still drunk. Feel like crap. Looks like I made some good food last night though. Pretty much cleaned out the freezer and filled the fridge. Looks like chicken tortilla soup, jambalaya, chicken wings, and some beans. Washed a lot of dishes this morning. They were all on the already-washed side of the sink, but were not very clean.... Fixed that before the wife got outta bed.

Oh well. All I have to do today is sleep all day.

Back to work tonight.

One of the few perks of living in a small town of ten thousand, all the elementary school kids dress up and walk around downtown and trick or treat at the local businesses... And my wife is fortunate enough to work at one of those businesses, so me and my daughter are hanging out and helping pass out candy...

One thing that really struck me as I watched the kids in their very elaborate costumes is that I must've grown up poor, cuz our costumes were always home made...

Racist!

A couple years ago I was looking at some framed picture collages in my parents hallway... Found one of me and my brother when we were young, all shoe-polished up for Halloween...

Alone in the hissing laboratory of his wishes, Mr Pugh minces among bad vats and jeroboams, tiptoes through spinneys of murdering herbs, agony dancing in his crucibles, and mixes especially for Mrs Pugh a venomous porridge unknown to toxicologists which will scald and viper through her until her ears fall off like figs, her toes grow big and black as balloons, and steam comes screaming out of her navel.

And a happy Halloween to all.
