I have yet to have a kidney stone.... Surprising given my 12 cup a coffee daily habit and lack of water....

But that's something I don't ever look forward to.

Nah, it's not mine. My wife is going through it. Said it's even more painful than being married to me.

Wife ran out of beer and sent me on a beer run. Leaving for camping tomorrow, so I had to go anyway.

Went to liquor store closest to me and there were a bunch of police cars in the lot and several cops inside. Looks like they're closed at the moment.

Went to the next closest, and there were a few cop cars, and a regular car in the doorway of the store. Looks like they're closed at the moment.

Went to the grocery store and bought the damn beers.

Pffft... shortage? Not by me... Total Wine is a warehouse sized booze barn, and BevMo is about half that size. Then you got the small packies close by (too expensive) and the 4 grocery stores that all sell booze (expensive).

All within 8 miles. Beer

Bought a case of Bud Light, pack of White Claw, and a sixer of some Scotch Ale and it was $60 something at the grocer. Would have been $48.19 out the door at the liquor store (and chilled - it's my normal pre camping beer run) around the corner.

Dumbass mofo's effing up my day.

MACS,
If I DID manage to get my fat, weary boned a$$ down on the ground and underneath my car, chances are I would not be able to get out and back up on my feet.
Car was in for a State Inspection anyway, so . . .

It's true. Pop. Though I feel like it's split between "pop" and the brand/style i.e. "Pepsi" or "root beer" etc.

San Diego area in the 80's and 90's a soda was called a coke... You'd say "can I get a coke?" And they'd say "sure, what kinda coke you want?" And you'd say "hmmm, sprite"...

Grew up in Milwaukee....generally considered midwest...and soda is soda; 'pop' was pretty much reserved for balloons....and cherries

There's been studies on soda vs. pop....probably government funded....maps are out there on the interwebs...lots of them

Left in late '80....except for one summer and a number of visits....lots of family and friends all stuck around...not a bad city; but if I ever considered living there, it would be as a snowbird only...I question the sanity and/or wisdom of anyone who spends winters in Wisconsin by choice

It was the same in the 70's in foothills of South Carolina. My grandfather would come pick me up at home and say "Come on boy, lets go get a coke and a moon pie. For him that meant a Mr. Pibb and a moon pie. Me, I went with Dr.Pepper. Drool
