Still think you should try the used tire and wheel shops... I bet they have some and will deal.. Mellow

Hit up two in Hammond, one in East Chicago, and one in Gary while I was out today. None had a full set, and they wanted $100 for a bare wheel with curb rash. My Spanish isn't good enough to wheel n deal on the fly, only got their price, couldn't work it out with them that I wanted 4, with tires and TPMS for $500. They were telling me $800 with American tires and would install on the car and take the old ones away, is good deal.

I wanna pay $500 for a set of 4 with tires and TPMS as a fresh takeoff. Plenty listed on Craigslist, as I've found 4 sets in 3 days. But nobody wanna actually sell em to me.

I got time. I'll keep looking. Considering the ubiquitous-ness of the Honda Civic, and the number of people that put aftermarket wheels on them, a set at my price with good tires is bound to happen. Just need to be a little more patient.

Chicago is notorious for Honda wheel theft.

I thought it would be easier than this.

Possum in a trap this morning. Playing dead when I went out to it.

I opened the door and propped it up with a tire about 10 minutes ago. It's still sitting in the trap.

That one can live, whenever it chooses to leave.

Tired of shuttling the woman around...
She still doesn't have a car... So when she wants to go to the gym I have to drive her....

Sitting at a coffee shop now because she wanted to spend 4 hours at the gym today... And my lazy azz never needs more than 2 hrs. So I've dropped her off and gone elsewhere to wait a bit.

She's hopefully buying a car in S Carolina in a couple days and having it shipped here. Who knew it was this difficult to find a Fiat of the specific color and interior she wanted.

I couldn't live the life I live without a pickup truck.

Hell, I removed the trunklid on an 82 Oldsmobile for my first "pickup"

Cut the hatch and midroof off an old Subaru wagon for my second.

Then I had a dark period where I drove a sedan, but often times had the rear seat folded down and sunroof open to put 8ft lumber or pipe or angle iron/tube through the sunroof to the back of the trunk. Also had a small trailer I towed with the car for other stuff.

I don't think Victor and I have similar lifestyles though.

Smoked and chopped a chicken last night, was thinking of something new to try with it.

Trying my hand at making chicken gumbo today. Never made it before. Only had it once. Not sure I'll be able to accurately evaluate the finished product.

Stupid critter was still sitting in there when I went out a few minutes ago.

Picked up and shook the trap until it fell out. Then it casually sauntered off to the thick brush at my property line.

Dunno if the crock pot is hot enough to be cooking the gumbo.

I had to leave for a couple hours. I'd started it in a cast iron dutch oven on the stove, but didn't want to leave that unattended so I dumped it into the crock pot. It's holding a light simmer, but it's not enough to keep the fat circulating. There's just a pad of clear liquid on the top of everything which I assume is the fats.

Not sure how to tell when it's done. Veggies are soft, the meats were pre cooked. Maybe it was done when I started and I'm just keeping it warm. The okra I got from the grocery store was at the very end of its shelf life, not fresh at all, so I dunno if it's gonna thicken things up effectively.

How long have you been crocking and at what setting? I've found that a crock pot on high four 3-4ish hours can get close to if not a full boil as opposed to a light simmer. Can't say for gumbo specifically. The couple I've tried have been cheats essentially

Well the gumbo turned out fantastic. Wife even ate one bite and didn't spit it into the garbage can. Said it was good, but didn't like the okra seeds.

I loved it. Ate two big bowls. Now I need a nap.

Had a Green Bay cigar smoking brother get into an accident just outside of Laurel MS. He's fine, the vehicle had $6000 worth of damage. Had to stay in town 10 days for all the repairs to be done. Nice enough town, he said.

Currently 48 with a high of 62 today. It's gonna feel like a sauna to you.

Current predictions for mid March... mid 60's to low 70's and (wait for it)...
