Wife and I got a sitter last night, but she couldn't come over until almost 10... We stayed out til about 330... Kids were up by 6... I feel super irresponsible...

It hailed...
Then it snowed...
Then it was sunny.

It's cold all day.

Sigh...


I am at the only local cigar bar. I'm half impressed, half disappointed.

I'm impressed that the owner basically is just laying on the couch watching TV all afternoon. His wife is on the other couch. They're both smoking cigars. Seems like a nice life.

This cigar bar is.... Not the same as the one I would go to in SF tho. Both "customers" are just watching basketball on TV. One customer is a previous employee just hanging out... The other is a heavy guy sitting at a table with 4 Waters in front of him. I guess he's expecting friends?

Sigh.... At least I have a book.

So the big guy was joined by 3 more big boys.
I don't think a one of them is under 280... Or could make 50yards without breaking a sweat.

These guys make drafter look svelte.

Another table filled with 3 short guys with suburban fat. Not huge but they definitely have a family keeping them from staying fit. At least 4 inches of fat over each belt. One lifts weights. He walks like a guy who benches a bunch but still has a few inches of fat around everything.

I feel like a skinny guy here.

I also am amazed at how old everyone looks.

I mean... I'm in my mid 40s. But... Seriously... I think some of these guys might be my age.

Traffic has been God awful.

All Indiana and Illinois plates on the road overnight. Traffic didn't let up till Nashville. Tried three rest stops for bathroom breaks and no spots open.

Finally in Indiana after 16 hours. 4-5 hours to go.

Aand we're home!

Just a quick 20 hour road trip.

Left with 85° sunshine, drove through some rain, then snow, and got home to 30° sunshine. It's basically the same.

The puppy dogs were so excited to see us. Even the cat came over, and then went back to the couch after sniffing a shoe.

Tough day for the sport. Half the goals that counted, shouldn't have.

We're all so tired, eating dinner at 4pm and probably will all be in bed by 6...

I even asked wife to drive the last two hours and I slept. Had been hallucinating for a couple hours and couldn't finish the drive.

Still, car naps ain't proper sleep.

It was, just south of Indy. Light dusting, no more than an inch.

Filled the truck at the Whitestown/Brownsburg exit and there were small snow piles from the plows.

Actually wasn't unpleasant today. I was outside for a while doing things and only wearing a light jacket, didn't die.

Everybody's showered, boy and wife watching Lego movie, I'm in the garage for beers n cigar. Will be asleep not long after the sun goes down, but probably in my recliner out here. I'll hit the bed later. Gotta reset to go back to nightshift life.
