ate too much this past weekend...so it's just black coffee this morning....for lunch, only a salad...

stuck at the house today...we're having a pool safety fence installed so we can turn the grandkids loose to play in the back yard without fear that they'll fall in the water...

Damn do I envy you retar... Errrr, retired folks...

Still workin through my project and it is rough goin.
Thought I was on schedule Sat night. Whiskey and smokes convinced me.
Things always look rosey when ya think ya got it in the palm of your hand.

Pulled an all nighter. Haven't slept since Sat night. On my third pot of coffee.
Insides all knotted up. Brain's a buzzin. See'in triple.
Almost at the finish line though.

Major Herf N Whiskey fest when I'm finished.

Hope y'all are havin a better day...

The best coffee is when you brew a pot, change out grounds, pour the pot back into the reservoir, and brew it again. Smoooth!

They say a bad day of fishing beats a good day of working... Today I put that theory to the test...

Seas were choppy, but doable... Halfway through our second drift, my buddies 7 year old daughter (who probably should not have been out there) hit the deck... Hard... Tooth went straight through the lip...

Brad, the amazing captain he is, realized fishing was not gonna be great (4 fish on board after 2 drifts), and realized this poor girl was gonna need stitches, and headed back to land...

Brad gave everyone a full refund... Didn't even call in galley tabs... I had the jackpot fish and gave everyone their money back... No one was thrilled, but for a day that was shaping up to be not great in the way of catching, it turned out ok...

And ya, still better than a good day at work...

ouch...I remember when my son got hit by his own bunted baseball that drove his two front teeth through his upper lip...blood everywhere...we were at a batting cage and dude didn't have a first aid kit, so I had to grab a roll of toilet tissue to put pressure on the wound before getting the boy to urgent care at Kaiser....

Brad's a good captain...didja tip him a couple of good cigars?

I hear you. July is the second worst month of the year, workwise. Multiple projects, workstreams, committees, and writing and delivering Mid-Year reviews, all on top of the regular gig..... messes with a guy's guts and sleep patterns.. Need to get back to sleep. If still up in an hour, going to strap on the helmet and head in few hours early.

Having a hard time finding your home?

Google maps is fine and all, but after a month of driving back and forth to work for a few months, you shouldn't need Google much more.... Flippin' Millenials.

If the kid was small enough, you could have thrown her back, and tried catching another one.

We got everything moved into the new mountain house yesterday. All that’s left is hanging pictures and getting some additional furniture. I am headed back to Scottsdale today for a golf match in 110°.

And I'm drenched in 90° weather after riding the mower around the yard for an hour and a half.

I would love to live there in the winter though...

Mowed what I could. Got stuck in the mud a few times even though I avoided the standing water.

I figured 4 consecutive 95° days, despite the rain on Sunday, would dry things out. I was wrong.

Couldn't go anywhere near the septic field, nor the area downhill from it. Gotta get it pumped out again if there's any hope of mowing. Gotta get it replaced, but I been saying that for 10 years now. Just can't find the $30k under the couch cushions. $200/pump I can damn near treat it like the black tank in my camper and go 15 years without hitting the cost of replacement...

Out here in the tropics of the Marshall Islands... it's almost always around 86 or 87 in the daytime and between about 82 and 84 at night. Summertime.... Chrsitmas Day... New Years.... doesn't matter.

But... somebody said it got up to 90 a couple of days ago. Freakin' global warming!!

Done that.

Stop at tuck stops when I'm on the road, and I fill up with that high octane black tar coffee that they got, then I put a few of these espresso shots called Stoks in em. They're right next to the coffer creamers. Carries me straight through the night. Drove for 30 hours straight one time. Stopping only to piss and gas up.
