Up at the mountain house where it is about 86 now and very low humidity. Beats the desert 106 which is a slight cool down from norma.

Sorry macs. Looks like Kipp hit the fish jackpot.

Mowed the lawn, clipped the overgrowth, settin up for showin the house tomorrow morning. Bathed in sweat from the strangling blanket of heat and humidity. (Thanks a lot Vic, TW and Jade for sending the misery my way) Set up a lounge chair on the deck with some whiskey, a smoke, and a chitload of drinks to keep hydrated. And a simple trick to remedy the heat, humidity, and the bugs in one fell swoop. (more on that in a picture post later)(and no, I didn’t call anyone a moron)(I know it’s hard to tell sometimes, cause I’s a jackazz) Anyway, as soon as I’m ready for the break, the wind whips up, skies grow dark, and pellets of spit start raining down from the skies.

Danm sent some of his luck my way.
Bullchit Danm!!!

Actually, if it turns his luck around, I’ll gladly take it.
Next time he goes to see the tranny dude, I want it to be because he wants to, not because he needs to.

Uhhhh, scratch that.

Don’t want him wanting to see the tranny dude.

Uhhhh, scratch that.

Don’t wanna stop him from doin whatever he wants.

Uhhh, scratch that.

Don’t want him wanting that…

Uhhh,
Well chit, I don’t know, you guys got me all fucquin cornfused…

The people who live behind me appear to be having a quiet backyard get together... One of their guests brought a guitar and appears to know an entire 3 chords... And he may or may not be gearing up to sing... Volume on my backyard tv just went way up...

We've got fireworks going off all around us.

Bad part is, I'm trying to get some sleep. Corporate dragon slaying only a few hours away.

I got 9 year out of it. When I bought it and they tested my water, they said it should last up to 10 years. Fair enough failure.

One more thing to do tomorrow, my only free day for pretty much the rest of July.

Happy weird Friday after the holiday where some have to work before they roll back into the weekend. Though some had to work yesterday so can't gripe too much

I'm going to have to wave the BS flag here. There is NO WAY anybody expects 10 years out of any Chevy.

Corporate Dragon, here I come.

Even better fishing weather...

Gone out for trout or catfish lately? I sure enjoyed trout fishing last week, but trout sure taste like disappointment compared to ocean fish...

I smoked a couple cigars each day on my fishing trip. On the third day of our trip, we ran into a huge school of smaller grade yellowfin tuna jumping out of the water and the captain yelled from the bridge, "C'mon cigar guy! Get one!"

I got one... and lost another.

^^That's because you've fought yellowtail on my boat. Compared to that, trout are like... minnows... or bait.

that was a lot of fun, more exciting and fun than trout fishing...but there's something about laid back fishing that has appeal...

have lotsa memories trout fishing with my son and other family members...using ultra light gear presents a challenge when a large one gets hooked...nowadays, big ones in the lakes are few and far between...

It's hot. And im without AC in my truck.

Made several calls to try to get an appointment to fix it, but everything's closed today.

Threw in a can of r134a that I had on a shelf. No gauges to tell if it needed it, but I figure the compressor and seals are gonna be replaced when I get it serviced so whatever. Even if I overcharge, anything that's damaged is getting replaced regardless

Got AC again. It's not cold, but it's cool enough to tolerate.

Went shopping for track day bbq stuff. Got 100lbs of pork butt, still need 200 more. 5 gallons of bbq sauce, 1500 plates, 100lbs baked beans, 50lbs coleslaw, 20 aluminum pans, 500 bags of chips. Still got more shopping to do

Friend's dad owns a butcher shop, I asked for a wholesale price for 300lbs and he came back at $2/lb.

Bought 100lbs boneless at Costco for $2.10/lb. Called several places and they were all $2.50ish. Gonna keep clearing out Costco for a few days.

Still shorting big-time on the sides. But that's been how it goes for several years so I'm not concerned. Just need to make sure I got enough meat. Even buns, I only plan to get 1200. Always run out and serve bare meat by the end, don't want leftovers but also don't want anyone going without.

The guy that normally does it donates leftovers to a shelter near his home. I have no outlet for leftovers and don't want to come home with 100 plates worth of food.
