Correct... I do.

I moved here 4 months ago from an actual location.

It was. We bought the house without ever seeing it, I think it had only been on the market a week when we put the offer in.
Moved in before the grass was put in... We needed a house quickly.

And you sound like you don't understand the value of real cities.

Why did you need to buy in a pressure situation?
On a new street, so it can't be THAT urban. Unless a completely redeveloped area.

So, it's gotta be Kansas City or St. Louis, cause they're the only places
in that state of misery that you would think actually matter.

You misread. I live in someplace that doesn't matter.
(incidentally, I would include KC or St Louis in that category)... I'm in central misery though. And no, it's not urban. People call it suburban... I call it middle of nowhere.... or suburban hellscape..

Whoa.

I pictured a metrosexual living in an urban loft.
What put you in the middle of misery?

Hot and dry here - too dry to mow now that I can. The rain keeps missing us and nothing much predicted for a week or so.

^^ You can have some of mine. I have plenty to spare.

About time too. I was starting to worry I'd have to cut lawn mowing back to once a week

I guess yesterday was my hump day...and today is Friday....cool.
Wife thinks we should be down on the Mall tomorrow evening. I have a list a mile long of cons....but the left side of the list is something akin to 'Happy wife.....'
Hoping she'll change her mind, but willing to make best of it regardless

This is (was) the first vehicle I've ever owned with working A/C. I'm not ready to go back to not having it. But don't exactly have a choice.

I can't afford another car payment. Stretched thin as it is. Worked overtime last night but took dog to doggy doc and blew any extra money I made on that.

Plus I still gotta pay of credit card with the 4k I spent on trans and tires. That'll take at least 18mo.

Should've called it when the trans went out. Now I'm way over my head.

Thanks for the suggestion of the stain pads, Dan. Was a miserable job, but would have been a lot worse with just rollers and brushes.

Wife went to recon the Mall this morning. Sounds like she's leaning towards 'no'. Limited access. Limited transportation. Limited restrooms. Limited (no?) refreshment stands. On the other hand, the prospects for viewing stupid confrontations will be pretty high...and that's almost always entertaining. Gonna be insane there tomorrow. I suspect that it weren't for the 100 degree heat index and likely t-storms, we'd probably go....probably going to have to scope out some local parade and/or fireworks instead
