Fear of Flying would have worked.

FTR . . . I wanted the new 500 title to be:

The "Why is a scumbag, with a record longer than Frankie's tri-pod, and who shoots cops, even on the streets in the first place ?" . . . But it was too long.

If you were willing to pay U.S. wages you could have probably watched whatever you wanted. Offshoring domestically, its a real thing!

place is a S.S.G. front...

staff there did you a favor by not turning on the TV...those TV's are equipped with cams and mikes that record anyone who watches them...

Back to work.

Got a call asking if I can leave for ATL Monday morning instead of Tuesday night. Can't do the morning as I just get off work but will leave Monday night.

Crunch time.

Sheffield United v. Crystal Palace on NBCSN. Don't miss it.

You could do an episode of Lottery Dream Dumpster Diving. Spending the fruits of your labor.

Any truth to the rumor many of the illegals coming over the border are nothing more than deep cover SSG agents? Maybe the mexican bar was a counter surveillance effort?

I wanted to see what my record for consecutive days worked, so I reviewed schedules for the last 10 years. Currently on day 13, and actually doing better than I thought I'd be when I signed on for all of this. Record is 19, and next best is 13. 19 days was in 2011. Back when I wasn't in charge of the place and could just come in, do my job, and go home without having to deal with making sure everyone else do their job n stuff. The next longest was in 2014 when they had incentive pay for extra hours worked, so it was time and a half plus $10 and I took everything I could get.

Now, picking up extra shifts is risky. Back in the day if you volunteered and weren't needed, they'd call you and say you can stay home. in 2015 policy changed and if you volunteered to help a short shift and they didn't need you, you had to be on call for your unit. In 2017 they changed that to be on call for the entire hospital, so you end up working somewhere nobody wants to work. That's when I quit working so much overtime. Used to average 500 hours OT a year.

One more to go tonight, and we're short to start so hopefully I get to work where I work and not somewhere else. But I'm the next in line to float so who knows.

Heading to ATL in 34 hours.

Thunderstorms, so couldn't mow this morning. Prolly gonna have to wait till I get home unless the wife does it.

The subject line, or the OP (post#1) ?

The subject line refers to THIS scumbag . . .
https://www.inquirer.com/news/philadelphia-police-shootings-six-shot-suspect-maurice-hill-20190815.html

Post #1 refers to me wanting to gift my choice of the title to Frankie Tri-pod, because he has a better way wif words than I do. I was tersely told, by 8trackdisco and Ram that it was not permissible and to POST UP a new title !
(See previous 500 thread - post #502 )
http://www.cigarbid.com/...-Until-the-Next-One-500

This was the best I could do under such vehement pressure.

Mexican music is driving you nuts in a MEXICAN RESTAURANT? Maybe drink somewhere else, Jonesy.

A MEXICAN bar, serving MEXICAN food and MEXICAN drinks, playing MEXICAN music.
Seems pretty racist to me. The least they could do is put on some ABBA for Jonesy...

Reminds me of a time around 25 years ago in Cancun. We were unusual customers in a downtown out of the way restaurant being Gringo and all. The waiter offered to change the TV which had soccer on it I told him not to. I didn't want to be an ugly American. I you don't like Mexican music what the hell are you doing in a Mexican restaurant ? Go away Gringo !

Fernando - the perfect compromise -

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though I never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
