We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning

We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

My air mattress popped last night. Woke up hurting from laying on the floor. Went to Wal-Mart after cooking breakfast for the crew and bought two cheap $8 air mattresses. Mine was a nice one. Was.

Picked up a case of beer too. Didn't know bud light came in a 30 pack. Never saw that before. Should get me through the weekend.

Sorry. I've not had nearly enough coffee, and I am frequently not nearly as amusing as I think I am anyway. I jumped right into a discussion instead of waiting and watching a bit, and then got butthurt when my "funny" comments didn't get the response I expected.
Reminders to self:
* Don't post uncaffeinated.
* Find introduction thread before jumping right in
* Pay attention to actual topic before posting random crap.

Now to go find said intro thread, read more than I post, and drink more coffee before making a complete arse of meself! ;)

I wish you a good morning, gents.

Anyone watching the Little League World Series? I'd never watched it before...but, turned it on Saturday because a local-ish team is doing well.
I was pretty impressed with ESPN's coverage. Those kids all can play some good ball.
And the majors coming in for a game Saturday night was great. Loved watching the big-leaguers with the kids for hours Sat.

Forgot it was on last night - VA lost, but double elim format means they got one more shot tonight. Will have to remember to turn it on.....I spent over an hour trying to get a new Fire Stick to work last night....bout ready to toss the damn thing in the trash. Though it may be that our router is the problem -- couldn't get a lap top IP without hard booting a couple times.....tech sux when it isn't perfect

Maybe I just really don't trust people in general... maybe I expect the worst of everyone.
But a few months ago we were driving through town and happened by some "children's theater" in Columbia, and the woman mentioned we should look into going to one of the kid's shows. In SF we had started going to watch the local kids put on plays at some after school group because the neighbor kid who walked our dog was in it. That made sense... we knew someone in the play... but I thought the idea of watching a bunch of random kids we didn't know put on a play was a bit.... odd. Like "have a seat over here" odd.

Maybe I just don't expect anyone to actually want to see kids do anything unless they're pedophiles. And normal people only go to those types of things for their kids because they're forced to through societal expectations. Maybe I'm wrong... maybe people like kids.

We haven't seen any here yet. The storms a couple months ago flooded the hell out of Jefferson.... when we drove down there we saw huge areas underwater still. But the rain here hasn't been too severe in columbia the past week. just a couple short storms, not long enough to cause flooding. Stream behind our house hasn't even hit high levels yet

My granddaughter, (20 months old), started day care/preschool this morning.
It's in the school where her daddy teaches science, so he's close at hand, which makes me and my wife feel a little bit better.
We'll see how it works out, but as of now, our babysitting duties will be down to two days a week.

Meh.. Too hot for a coat! And me skipping the caffeine is bad enough. You folks REALLY dun wanna see me messing with alcohol! I drank well over my lifetime quota years ago, so it's for the best if I just tank up on the coffee.

victor809 wrote:

Yup. I discovered that. I DID find the forum rules/conditions and the newbie "Please Read" thread though.
And, since this appears to be pretty much the most active thread on here, perhaps It's the best place for an intro as well.

HI all! I'm Khaos. I've been a cigar smoker for 30 something years, though, only a particularly discerning one for the last 20 or so. I'm a coffee addict and snob (though the addiction will trump the snobbery every time), and have far too many hobbies and proclivities to make labels much use at all. I'll eventually get round to filling out the profile thingy, but in the meantime, feel free to ask anything you'd like to know.
Before anyone asks, I refuse to be forced to choose between pancakes and waffles. I want it all, and furthermore, fully expect to have my cake, pancakes, waffles, and any other tasty treats I desire, AND eat them too! And all the coffee and stoagies to go with them as well.
I'm greedy like that.

Nah man... Cameroon is a long dead poster who would welcome each of the noobs by creating brilliant yet sophomoric names for them based on their username.

After his untimely death, the role has been half-heartedly taken up by Opel... Who appears to be dead as well
