Freshwater bass is not good eating, IMO. Largemouth or smallmouth... fun to catch, but catch and release.

Only bass I've eaten was white bass out a river in Wisconsin. It was a good freshwater fish from clean waters. Light, flaky, could sub out for any whitefish/talapia/cod etc

Ive heard largemouth are sporting only. But i got a cousin that loves to fry up rock bass too.

I've never dressed my own fish. Dont know how. So if im eating fresh fish, its someone else's catch or they did it for me. I can dress a chicken, a hog, a deer, a cow, but never learned fish.

So you take your fish on nude dates but the land animals are fully clothed? Any pictures from the date with the
Mongolian Marmot?

I used to filet them. It's not too hard. Two cuts really, one to get the filet and one to take the skin off on the other side. Personally I like black bass and bluegill, rock bass is about the same. But hell anything is good if you fry it. I have also had catfish and musky but I wasn't the one who prepared them... Now I mainly just fish for sport/trophies.

The one thing I didn't enjoy is stocked trout. They taste like farm raised tilapia because the trout are farm raised as well, by the state. Imo they have a mealy taste to them that even grease and bread cant fix.

So....let's tell a tale of iced coffee.

Living in Misery now, I've taken to drinking iced coffee in the morning. Just until 1030 or so, when I fire up the coffee pot at work and have hot coffee.

This saga started when I found these drinkable, nothing fancy jugs of iced coffee at Aldis.... one was enough to get me most of the way through the week.
Then, a month or so ago, I found these "do it yourself" coffee bags that you throw in water and let sit out for 12 - 16 hours, and presto... you have iced coffee. Basically tea bags for coffee. And I liked the taste better. Wonderbar.

Well... Aldis now stopped carrying them. I should have bought more. The other grocery store doesn't carry them either.

So, I figured I'd sort something out at home this weekend. Immediately after thinking I'd figure something out, the woman breaks my pour-over coffee maker. Now I have zero coffee making capabilities in the house (she broke my french press about 4 months ago).

So... I look up some of these "drip" cold brew systems... and figure "Hey... I'm a smart guy... I can make this work with what I have".

Well, that was apparently an incorrect thought.

I kludged together the cone filter from my broken pour-over... set that over a pitcher, suspended a metal colander full of ice above it and let that run for literally 24 hours. Just a slow drip of water into the coffee grounds, and down into the pitcher.

The coffee turned out like sh$t. Way too weak.

I'm now looking for some way to make cold brew at home.

Good luck Ram.

Weird looking red sunrise this morning had everybody looking to the heavens and beseeching the gods for any drop of rain to quench our desiccated throats. The gods just smirked and sent some verga.

If you want strong cold brew put water and coffee grounds in a covered glass container in the fridge, anywhere from 1-14 days... obviously you wanna put it through a coffee filter before you drink it....

trying to get a gizmo that will allow me to skip that "filtration" step. But preferably with no waste.
There's something called a "rumble go" that makes cold brew in a mason jar... might try to grab something like that and just let it seep in a pitcher of water for a day

Victor, have you tried an aeropress?

I rarely drink coffee outside of work, but that's my preferred method. Its quick and easy and gives fantastic results.

10.7 mile bike ride this morning with wife, boy, and MIL. Boy was so stoked to have gramma with he didnt complain the whole time. Normally if we do the 6 mile trail he's dragging behind and bitching non stop. But he wanted to keep going.

And at the end he wanted to race me. So my fatazz won, but now I'm super sore. Was a bit of a struggle going up and down the stairs when we got back.

Yeah... gyms fkn closed again, so I hit the trails this morning for an hour of running and walking. Was about to walk to the pet store but got to the main street and realized I did not bring a mask... so I turned around. F it... I'll go tomorrow.

Can't you just brew normal coffee and then chill it? I don't really have any understanding of iced coffee so may be way off base here

The old forgot the mask thing. It has happened a few times to me.

Now I keep a spare in the car, for those occasions specifically. Maybe you need to buy a spare, if you do not have one.
