If spoken in a thick, fake, overacted Baaaaston accent both words would sound about the same. Think Matt Damon or Ben Affleck on the big screen.

Steer clear of shag carpets in case your Velcro shoes come "untied." You might get stuck like a mouse on one of those sticky trap thingies

Ribs are done and resting until 1pm. Holy fkn sh-t they look and smell amazing. Stuffing is made (and delicious). And I think I may have to have some loaded egg nog... and get a little lit (maybe not loaded).

Edit: Welp... beef ribs just replaced brisket as my favorite barbecue meat. Holy sh1t!

Had a good time for a while. For the past 10 years or so of having Thanksgiving at my wife's sister's house it's been 3 hours away so we stay there overnight. Now that they've moved up here and downsized their house from a 6bed to a 3 bed, we gotta go home after. So I had a few beers and a bourbon between 3 and 7 but stopped at 7. The rest of them did not, so it got progressively louder and drunker and I had to sit it out. It's never fun being sober in a drunken crowd.

Wife ended up completely hammered, I had to pick her up and carry her hammered. Managed to get her in bed, got the boy tucked in, and then I hear a thud cause she rolled out of bed. Picked her up again and put her in bed, then drove back to the inlaws to drop off my brother in law's phone that my wife took with her for unknown reasons.

She's gonna be hurting tomorrow for sure. I'm gonna have a bottle of Gumballhead and head to bed myself in a bit.

Saw a ton of idiots camping outside of stores already on the drive down there at 3pm, and the lines had tripled on the drive home at 1030pm.

In other news, grocery store by me has full beef tenderloins for $4/lb Friday only according to the sale ad. Always on the lookout for meat sales. Gonna go over there as soon as I can in the morning and hopefully get my mitts on one or two. Might be like the other Black Friday sales where they put out 10 and say sold out after those are gone but I'm gonna try.

My favorite local brewery, One Trick Pony in Lansing, IL is having their annual barrel aged cocoa butter kisses release tomorrow. Gonna try to get out there and get my 4 pack. Devils Trumpet brewery in Merrillville, IN is also having a barrel aged annual release tomorrow, might hit them up too. The two breweries are an hour apart and my house is in the middle, might not be up for that much driving in holiday traffic.

Also have to drive down to my parents place to tend to their chickens while they're at their Florida home. That's another hour round trip. I built their coop for the purpose of not needing to be tended to for at least two weeks at a time. But they don't use it the way I designed it, instead one of my sisters goes over there every other day while they're out of town. But she's with them for two weeks. I'm going to bring my unused chicken stuff over there tomorrow to set it up properly and maybe check in in another week. My coop could go a week and I had more birds.

Nope... and aside from going to the gym, which is only a mile from the house, I will remain shut away from the absolute idiots out shopping.

Sure... I'll be bored... but I won't punch anyone in the face and get arrested.

There is 25% off most boots on Danner's website.

Today is my birthday, and I bought a pair of Danner Mountain Light Explorers. USA made with USA materials. Recraftable. Lifetime hiking boot.

I have wanted a pair of them for years but was never willing to spend the cash.

Damn good birthday so far...

Had to drive to the hood to get some, tried a few safer places.

Got 4 regular and 4 special two varieties.

Also went to devils trumpet and got 6 of their two varieties.

Volunteering at one trick pony to setup, gonna get some more there after we get the tent setup. Figured put in an hour of labor instead of an hour in line. Pay and leave before the people show up.

Thankful for completion of a round trip drive to Gods Country with my son.

Got to see my parents, and my favorite aunt.

Every time I see them I consider it a bonus visit. We could all be dead tomorrow.

Thanks Corey and Robert.

Frank I was hoping that you sent a box of Todos Las Dias, but a check will do.

MACS I have heard nothing but great things about the higher end Danners. A few yrs back I owned a pair of their mid range boots but since then I have been wearing Merrells. Basically I get whatever is relatively cheap in the REI outlet as long as they have Vibram soles.

I'm am really looking forward to trying out the best that Danner has to offer...

That turned into almost 3 hours. The labels got delivered 15 minutes before the official release, so I stuck around to get everything rolling. There were about a dozen cases left to label when I left, but had enough to cover the people in line and since I wasn't getting paid or discounted carryout I left with my bottle limit. Drank enough tap beer to cover my time though. Beer
