Sausage n egg on toasted brioche bun for breakfast.

Waiting for the grill to cool back down to smoke some country ribs. Got it lit and walked away for too long and it hit 500. Closed the dampers, it'll suffocate eventually. Gonna smoke em for a few hours and then braise em till the end in a dutch oven.

While waiting I ran to the grocery store and bought another beef tenderloin. $4/lb is just too hard to pass up. Got 3 in the garage freezer now. My hoarder instincts are telling me I need more, but I think this is sufficient. One for filets, one to make my first ever wellington, and one to make subsequent wellington for Christmas after I learn from my mistakes.

I've never had it, so I have no base to compare it to. But sounds like something I'd enjoy.

I love making time-intensive and complicated dishes, so it's been on my radar. But considering the cost involved for a tenderloin I've never given it a shot. At half price, it's gonna happen.

Over the years, I had a few pit-bull bite cases. Horrid injuries. They clamp on the face or throat. In one case the cops had to shoot the dog to get the guy's hand out of the dog's mouth. Once they "go off" it's too late. In every case, the owners said the dog never displayed such behavior and was a great pet.

Some companies give a break for a mixed breed. I'd leave the Pitbull to the back end of the description.

Liability insurance

Dog owners in the United States can be held legally liable for injuries inflicted or caused by their dogs. In general, owners are considered liable if they were unreasonably careless in handling or restraining the dog, or if they knew beforehand that the dog had a tendency to cause injury (e.g., bite); however, dog owners are automatically considered liable if local laws hold an owner strictly liable for all damage caused by their dog, regardless of carelessness or foreknowledge of a dog's tendencies. Homeowners and renters insurance policies typically provide liability coverage from US$100,000–300,000 for injuries inflicted by dogs;[63] however, some insurance companies limit their exposure to dog bite liability claims by putting restrictions on dog owners that they insure. These restrictions include refusing to cover dog bites under the insurance policy, increasing insurance rates for homeowners with specific breeds, requiring owners of specific breeds to take special training or have their dogs pass the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test,[64] requiring owners to restrict their dogs with muzzles, chains, or enclosures, and refusing to write policies for homeowners or renters who have specific breeds of dogs.

Restrictions can be by city as well. With Cali being Cali, I'd imagine they are on an outlaw list....

Unless they crossed over the border in search of a better life. Then they get full citizenship and get to vote... twice.

Been in this house over 20 years and never one claim filed. It's MY house, and I ain't asking for anyone's fkn permission for sh*t. For every horror story you have about pit bulls, there are a million other pit bulls that didn't do a damn thing wrong and were great pets because they were trained right.

My niece has 2. My nephew had a big one for 12 years... dog was absolutely great with his kids and followed them around the yard watching over them, until he died.

Jiminy flippin' Christmas. It's like the Covid all over again... 1% of people die, so we should kill, shun, or refuse to insure anyone who gets it!

I initially ignored you... now it's too late, you sh*t in my cereal.

"California does not enforce any targeting of the pit bull over other breeds. But they do maintain some ordinances pertaining to the breed specific laws of the state. According to these BSL ordinances, a pit bull or another dog on the BSL that is over the age of 4 months old must be licensed."

He's already been sterilized and vaccinated and I will pay his licensing fee when I pick him up.

*deep breath*... ... ... *heavy sigh* Alright, I'm good.

I understand, my brother, and I do appreciate your concern. This 8 month old pup is a happy dog. I spent 30 minutes with him today and in that short time, with distractions like people and other dogs walking by, dogs barking... I got him to learn sit, down, and fetch with nothing but small treats and praise.

I know once I get his full attention his training will go well, and as he progresses we'll work on dealing with distractions. Already have a "socialization" play date set for Sunday with my buddy Art's 3 dogs.

My only concern at the moment is Phoebe. He wants to play, and she's old and may just swat his happy ass.

I've had a little bit of experience with pits...

buddy of mine used to have one named snoop... he was really good with the baby... always nice to me... I could play with him,,, but I was alone with him in the garage once for about a minute and he started growling at me... my buddy came back and there was no issue...

same buddy got a couple more later on... they were goofy dogs... like inbred and not at all dangerous type of goofy...

I had a red nosed pit mix... he was my wife's and he became mine when he was 10... he was a gentle giant... he chased cats but it was all a game... the one time he actually caught up to one in the yard he froze up until the cat started running again...

I'm always a little hesitant around socal pits, especially the squatty ones, especially the blues... they've been breed for something specific... but any puppy can be trained, no doubt about that...

in my humble opinion, aussiedors are the best dogs in the world... and all dogs go to heaven...

Only breed I've ever taken a real issue with is chow chows. When I was about 5-6 years old my cousins had one. It bit me on the neck while I was sitting at the kitchen table eating a snack. Didn't let go. Pulled me down from my seat and was shaking me by the neck. My aunt came in the room and bodyslammed the fugger, killing it, but I was bleeding pretty good ended up in the hospital. 30 years later I'm still afraid of those dogs.

I've watched the show a bit, I don't seek it out but it comes up on rotation after I've fallen asleep watching something on hulu. It's good, but I think a lot of the effort in writing is lost - but a lot of that is recaptured in the cookbook. I love that show, and the novelty burgers are right up my alley.

My GSD/Husky mix is the best dog I've ever had. Before that my GSD/Rott was the best. Before that my GSD/Collie was the best. There's a pattern, and the next one will fit in line.

Strange thing to be thankful for.

Just another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Low 70s this afternoon. Already finished a 5 miler and headed out to the patio with an R44. Not much on the agenda except football in the afternoon on a hump day?!

Finally put the rest of the turkey and prime rib to freezer Sunday. Dreaming of prime rib paninis and tacos. The white meat of turkey needs a better disguise, already did the carcass soup, shredded w/bbq sauce and the turkey bacon sourdough sammich

Gonna be in the high 30's to low 40's most nights this week topping the days under 68. Small window for smokes. I need to move further south. Like Jamaica. It just occurred to me, jerked turkey I still gots the wings.
